Fortune Cookie Soap Box – Fall 2015

FCS Box - Fall 2015

Fortune Cookie Soap is a store based in the US which sells hand-made bath & products. You can kind of compare their products to Lush. The scents of their products are very unique and always amazing. Fortune Cookie Soap also has a seasonal subscription for a Soap Box with a special theme. Examples of previous Soap Box themes include A Nightmare Before Christmas, Alice in Wonderland and Peter Pan. The theme of this Fall Soap Box collection is “Old Hollywood”. This box contains eight products in total. I’ve been experimenting with some editing and tried to edit the pictures to match the theme as much as possible, I hope you guys like it!

Dressed to Kill – Fortune Cookie Soap

FCS Dressed to Kil lFortune Cookie Soap

Dressed to Kill – Fortune Cookie Soap is like the name says, a soap shaped like a fortune cookie. I love Fortune Cookie Soaps, I like to use it as decoration in a bowl with other Fortune Cookie Soaps. Of course you can also use them as a soap to keep next to the sink or for showering. You can also turn this into a lovely gift with a personal message inside. The scent of this Fortune Cookie Soap is described as “Dribbles of mulled, red wine, swirled with dark, rich vanilla and cut apples, and a dusting of spice.”  I can definitely smell the spices and apple, this is a deliciously warm and typical fall scent. The Fortune Cookie Soap has an orange/golden fall leaf shade and tiny glitters mixed in. Inside the soap is a small fortune, mine says “Fasten your seatbelts. It’s going to be a bumpy night. – All About Eve 1950“. This is a full-sized product.

Famous – Wax Tart

FCS Famous Wax Tart

Famous – Wax Tart is a product that you can put in a wax burner. The scent is described as “Warm amber, wild orchid fluttering white cotton, sundried herbs.”  To me, it smells juicy, clean and fresh, I also smell a bit of fruit, which is not likely since the description doesn’t mention any fruity ingredients. The wax tart looks like a pink star with lots of gold glitter on top.  This is a miniature-sized product. The wax tart’s scent is very strong and fills the whole room instantly when burned. This is a miniature sized product.

American Royalty – Pomade

FCS American Royalty Pomade

American Royaly – Pomade is a kind of hard type of wax that you can use to texturize your hair. I think product would work better on short hair. I haven’t tried this on my hair but I did try to use this as a brow wax, which works fine.  The scent is described as “Rose milk, thick honey and warming tobacco blossom wrapped with caramel and notes of mandarin.” I looooooooooove this scent. It smells warm, rich and slightly masculine. It almost smells like an expensive perfume, I will definitely order a Perfume Oil in this scent.  I’m not sure if this is a miniature or fullsize but I’m guessing this is a miniature sized product.

Glitz & Glamour – OCD Hand Sanitizer

FCSGlitzGlamourOCDHandSanitizer

Glitz & Glamour – OCD Hand Sanitizer is another popular product of Fortune Cookie Soap. This product is an anti-bacterial type of hand sanitizer, you don’t need any water to use this. The scent is described as“Wet moss, polished woods, creamy vanilla”. The vanilla is very noticable, it really does smell like a warm woodsy vanilla type of scent. This is a full/travel-sized product however, I think you can also buy a bigger size with a pump, not sure if the pump one was a limited edition sized product or if this is permanent though.

The OCD Hand Sanitizer has the same orange/golden leaf shade as the Fortune Cookie Soap.  It also contains fine glitter which leaves a very subtle shimmer on my hands. Usually these type of hand sanitizers feel feel drying to the skin. However, the OCD Hand Sanitizers from Fortune Cookie Soap are nicely moisturizing. I always keep one in my hand bag.

Pearls & Girls – Perfume Oil

FCS Pearls Girls Perfume Oil

Pearls & Girls – Perfume Oil is a perfume that comes in an awesome travel sized perfume spray. Normally, a Perfume Oil from Fortune Cookie Soap comes in a small glass container with a screw-off lid, so this is a very cool addition. Mine is green with silver decoration but I’m guessing these are distributed in several colors. You can take the perfume spray apart and re-use it when the Perfume Oil has run out, which I’m definitely going to do since I have a few other FCS Perfume Oils in my stash! The scent is described as“Crushed and distilled vanilla creeping with wild jasmine and a splash of juicy pear”. This is a nice warm floral, vanilla scent. This is a full/travel-sized product, not sure if they will sell this with the spray but I’m hoping they will!

Scandal – Bath Powder

FCS Scandal Bath Powder

Scandal – Bath Powder is a white powder in a small plastic seal bag. Seriously FCS, I love what you did there, making a white powdery substance in a container like this and calling it Scandal. This is one of the many examples why I love Fortune Cookie Soap company, they make up the most funny and original things for their products, keep ’em coming!  The scent is described as “Creaking woods, wild blown leaves, and twisted rose thorns”. I find this scent difficult to describe myself, I just think it’s floral-y with a subtle rose smell. This is a miniature sized product.

Tommy Guns & Baseball Bats – Whipped Cream

FCS Tommy Guns Baseball Bats Whipped Cream

Tommy Guns & Baseball Bats – Whipped Cream is a whipped body butter/lotion/cream. The consistency of the Whipped Cream is my favorite type of all the bodylotion-y type of products around. My skin always feels hydrated  and soft after using this. The scent is described as “Grandma’s hot apple pie, dusted with freshly shaved cinnamon, nutmeg and warm brown sugar, topped with rich, creamy, marshmallow fluff”. Every, single, time a new collection comes around, there’s always a scent that turns out to become my favorite scent ever. This is the scent this time around. I just want to drown in this scent, or just bathe in it until every pore in my body has taken in and become one with this scent. I don’t care what the description says, it smells like a Pistachio Milkshake, period. I’ve been dying for brand like the Bodyshop to make a bodybutter/whipped cream with this scent, now FCS has fulfilled my Whipped Cream dreams.. thank you hahaha. When possible, I’m going to buy a lifetime of this stuff. This is a miniature sized product.

The whipped cream has a light pastel green shade. It immediately blends into the skin and makes the skin very soft and moisturized.

Hollywood Dreams – Shampoo Bar

FCS Hollywood Dreams ShampooBar

Hollywood Dreams – Shampoo Bar is a solid shampoo. You can use solid shampoos just like a liquid shampoo, just wet the bar, rub between your hands and over your hair to make it foam. Distribute that over your hair to wash. You can use the Shampoo Bar multiple times of you leave it in a dry place afterwards. These type of solid shampoos are perfect for traveling.  The scent is described as“Brown sugar dusted graham crackers, fresh churned apple butter, sprinkled with nuts and a hint of maple”. It really smells delicious like a warm, fall type of pastry. Like you almost want to eat it so yummy (don’t do it though)! This is a miniature sized product.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box - Fall 2015

I’m always a huge fan of the Fortune Cookie Soap boxes. I’ve tried a lot of beauty related subscription boxes, but the Fortune Cookie Soap Box has been the only one who has never disappointed me. Every box consists with beautiful products, that smell amazing. Even when the scent is sometimes not my cup of tea, I still happily use it. I’m always amazed by the effort, hard work and love that has been put in every single scent and product.

Fortune Cookie Soap Fall Box

Unfortunately, this Fortune Cookie Soap Box is already sold out, since they only make a limited amount of boxes for their subscribers. You can however subscribe for the Winter Fortune Cookie Soap Box at the Fortune Cookie Soap Website. It is not very cheap though, since shipping to the Netherlands is rather expensive, the subscription costs $34 USD per box (check xe.com for the current price in Euro). You also have to pay by credit card. I don’t mind paying that price though, since I always use all the products in the boxes and is only available once every three months. With other beauty related subscription boxes, I mostly did not use the products and to give them away trade  them for other products. I’m already excited for the next box.

Have you ever tried any Fortune Cookie Soap Products before?

Cheers,

Lariesa
