Fortune Cookie Soap Box Spring 2016

Fortune Cookie Soap Box Spring 2016 01

Hey Everyone! I have another unboxing of the Fortune Cookie Soap Box. This is a seasonal subscription box from the brand Fortune Cookie Soap, a store based in the US which sells hand-made bath & products. You can compare their products to Lush. The scents of their products are very unique and always amazing. I have made a few unboxing posts of this box, which you can find here. The theme of the Spring Soap Box of 2016 is named “Let it Grow.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box Spring 2016 02

There’s a total of eight products in the Fortune Cookie Soap  Box Spring 2016. I’m not 100% sure about this, but I think there are six full-sized and two miniature-sized products products in this box. I haven’t received this many full-sized products in any box before, which is really awesome!

Guardian of the Forest – Fortune Cookie Soap

FCS Guardian of the Forest - Fortune Cookie Soap

Guardian of the Forest– Fortune Cookie Soap is like the name says, a soap shaped like a fortune cookie and the company’s staple product. I really love the Fortune Cookie Soaps! I collect them, using these as decoration in a bowl with other Fortune Cookie Soaps. You can also use them as just a soap for washing your hands or for showering. You can also use these soaps as lovely gift with a personal message inside.

The scent of Guardian of the Forest is described as “A bouquet of spring flowers and top it off with a squeeze of fresh-cut meyer lemons. This might sound really generic, but to me it smells like how soap smells like lol. Just the generic scent of soap, and I like that kind of scents, clean and fresh. The Fortune Cookie Soap has a pale, pastel yellow shade with dark brown specs, which reminds me of Vanilla. Inside the soap is a small fortune, which is usually a quote of related to the box’s theme, mine says “You do know you are talking in rhyme, don’t you?” .This is a full-sized product. You can also put your own message inside which would really make a lovely gift.

This Thing? – OCD Hand Sanitizer

FCS This Thing - OCD Hand Sanitizer

This Thing? – OCD Hand Sanitizer is also another popular product of Fortune Cookie Soap. The OCD Hand Sanitizer is an anti-bacterial type of hand sanitizer, you don’t need any water to use this. The consistency is gel-like, transparent with a violet shade. The color doesn’t transfer when you apply the sanitizer. I really love the OCD Hand Sanitizers, they feel very cleansing without feeling like it’s drying out my skin. I always bring one with me inside my purse.

The scent of This Thing? is described as “Bright orange notes blend perfectly with sweet vanilla, and is that a hint of citrusy-lemon and delicate florals I smell?”. Again, I can’t really make a distinction of the exact smell, I really love it. The scent is flowery but also sweet and warm. This is also a full-sized product.

Disco Tree – Whipped Cream

FCS Disco Tree - Whipped Cream

Disco Tree – Whipped Cream is a whipped bodycream. The consistency of the Whipped Cream is my favorite type of all the bodylotion-y type of products ever created. My skin always feels hydrated  and soft after using this.

The scent is described as “ A blend of fresh picked berries, lily of the valley, and sandalwood”.  I’m sorry but I really suck when it comes to describing floraly fresh scents! I can’t say anything other than it smells like fresh and flowery laundry wash. I’m personally not so fond of this scent.  The shade of the whipped cream is just plain white.  This is a miniature sized product.

Unless . . . – Pedi-Bomb

FCS Unless . . . - Pedi Bomb

Unless . . . – Pedi-Bomb is a product that you can throw into warm water for a nice foot bath. I think this is a new product but I can’t find it on the website any longer, it might be that good that the product is sold out? I have seen the Bath Bomb version, which might be the same only having a different size.  I really like this product, foot baths are always nice. This stuff left my feet feeling nicely moisturized and feeling relaxed after a hard working day.

The scent is described as “Fresh spring water with just a hint of algae, flowing through hyacinths and water lilies, grounded by dirt and oakmoss, earthy woods & resins”. For some reason I smell mandarins (might be because it’s orange and my brain just wants to have it smell like mandarins), but it doesn’t say anything about it in the scent description.. so yeah.. I suck again. It does also smell a bit earthy. I think this is a full-sized product but I’m not sure.

Oh Hair – Shampoo Bar

FCS Oh Hair - Shampoo Bar

Oh Hair – Shampoo Bar is a solid shampoo. You can use this product by stroking the bar onto wet hair for a few times to give it a lather. Then massage your hair and scalp like you would do with a normal liquid shampoo. I have tried products like this one before, but I personally prefer liquid shampoos.

The scent is described as “Fresh peach nectar and shaved grapefruit, garnished with a sprig of thyme…this surely is Freshness To-Go”. This really smells fresh, fruity and juicy, really like sweet nectar. The bar has a nice bright sky blue shade with white sprinkles. I’m again not sure if this is a full-sized product, which I’m guessing it is because it’s about the same size as a Lush Shampoo Bar.

One C – Cuticle Oil

FCS One C - Cuticle Oil

One C – Cuticle Oil is product that you can apply on your cuticles to make them nice and soft. I really love to use cuticle oil/butters. It really works when you have cracked and dry cuticles, especially during the cold winter periods!

The scent is described as “Warm woods swirled with patchouli and topped with a dollop of creamy vanilla”. Scents like this one are made for me. I adore warm vanilla-y scents. This one is just amazing, so warm, woodsy and creamy. The oil has a very subtle yellow shade. I again think that this is a full-sized product but the packaging has slightly changed. You get a roller ball applicator instead of a dropper.

.

Paradise Found – Petal Perfume

FCS Paradise Found - Petal Perfume

Paradise Found – Petal Perfume is a Vegan handcrafted perfume oil, infused with organic flower petals. The scent will get better over time because petals infusing with the oil.  You can use this by applying the perfume oil with the roller ball on to your skin. I think this is a handy product to travel with.

The scent is described as “Delicate freesia, bruised rose petals, fresh mangos & strawberries darkened by tonka bean & amber”. I was afraid that this scent would smell too much like potpourri, but it doesn’t, probably because of the extra addition of the fruity scents. The scent is not too overpowering, so I think this would be a nice perfume on a daily basis, especially suitable for the spring and summer. This is a full-sized product.

In-Organic – Shower Steamer

FCS In-Organic - Shower Steamer 01FCS In-Organic - Shower Steamer 02

Paradise Found – Shower Steamer is a product that you use in the shower by removing the wrapper and placing it in a corner of your shower. The steam made during the shower, releases the scent for an aromatherapy effect. For me, it lasts about 2 shower sessions. I have received this type of product a couple of times already. Before it was named “Steam me Up Scotty!”. I would never purchase a product like this myself, because my shower gels are heavily scented and would overpower this anyway.

The scent is described as “Explosion of fresh squeezed lemons intertwined with hand picked parsley”. It smells very herbal and organic, not really a scent that I would gravitate towards. This is a full sized product however, if you order this from the FCS website, you’ll get three.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box Spring 2016 03

I liked the Fortune Cookie Soap Box Spring 2016. I’m not a fresh/flowery type of person, but I do think there are great scents in there. It’s really a box full of perfect spring scents. If you would close your eyes and smell the products, you would immediately be able to guess the season it’s based on. I’m really surprised that there were so many full-sized products in this box! Most of the products can also be used more than once and are very practical. My favorite product in this box is the One C – Cuticle Oil. Unfortunately, Fortune Cookie Soap Boxes are sold out as soon as they launch, since they only make a limited amount of boxes for their subscribers. You can  subscribe for the Summer Fortune Cookie Soap Box at the Fortune Cookie Soap Website.

Since shipping to the Netherlands is quite expensive, the subscription costs $34 USD per box (check xe.comfor the current price in Euro). You also have to pay by credit card. I really don’t mind paying that price though, because I mostly use all of the products in the boxes and all the products are like Lush, unique and hand-made with lots of love. With other beauty related (monthly) subscription boxes, I usually did not use the products and to give them away trade  them for other products, which is more of a waste of money.

What product did you find most interesting in this box?

Cheers
