Kinki Kappers for KWF Charity Event

Hey everyone! Last Wednesday, I went to get my hair done at Kinki Kappers by Giny and to discuss the Kinki Kappers Charity Event that will be held next Saturday Night, the 26th of August to support KWF, an organisation that Battles Against Cancer. You can get your hair cut and pay any amount you like and 100% of the proceeds will be donated to KWF! If you want to know more about the Charity Event and see how Giny has transformed my hair, check out the post down below.

I went to the Kinki Kappers at the Zwart Janstraat in Rotterdam, where the lovely Giny (and Jodie!) work. These girls are so fun and sweet, they will also be joining the Charity Event in their store!

The Kinki Kappers Charity Event for KWF is on the 26th of August, from 18:00 to 24:00. The stores that are open for this event are in the cities DordrechtRotterdam, Delft, Den Haag (The Hague) and Leiden. During that time, you can get a haircut and pay the price of your choice, so it doesn’t matter if you want to pay €10 or €100 Euro, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to KWF. Sixty Kinki Kappers Hair Stylists will be there in the stores to give you an amazing haircut, from simple to extreme, they can do it all!

If you never have been to a Kinki Kappers before, you definitely should consider to visit them now. I’ve been to several of their establishments and they all look very modern and fun. A lot of people often think that Kinki Kappers only do extreme looks, which is definitely not true! They are of course known for their alternative style and specialized in extreme haircuts and shades, but they can do the most natural haircuts and colors.

For my visit, I knew I wanted to have a Balayage and dye my hair but wasn’t sure what was possible since I have black/brown, warm Asian hair. Bleaching my hair often results in yellow/orange hair so not all colors will grab on to it. Thankfully, Giny (Instagram: @helloginy) has a lot of experience and we came up with a fun combination using the hair dyes La Riche Directions Midnight Blue and Cerise.

The combination worked perfectly! I was afraid that the blue shade would turn green due to my hair being very yellow after bleaching, but it grabbed on very well without changing it’s color! I also love how Giny did the Bayalage, gradually fading my own hair color on top, which is not bleached to the other colors. She also used Olaplex to keep my hair healthy during the bleaching process. My hair still feels super soft and even shinier than before. She also cut my hair a tiny bit to make it look more full and healthy. Indoors, the hair colors look very subtle and subdued but changes completely to bright, saturated colors when being outdoors in natural sunlight.

Here’s a picture of my hair when exposed to my ringlight. It’s seriously looking like it’s glowing! Unfortunately, I have been so busy that I haven’t been able to take better pictures of my hair, but I hopefully will soon. I will update this post when these pictures are made and you will of course see more pictures on my Instagram account!

Thank you so much to Giny for making my hair look so awesome, I’m very happy with my hair and I’m sure that she will make plenty of people happy during the Kinki Kappers Charity Event for KWF. You should definitely consider to go, these hair stylists are very professional and will do their best to give you a great hair cut.

As someone who has worked in different departments in Universities that researches cancer, I know first-hand that funds are absolutely needed. Please give yourself a treat by getting a hair cut and help this great cause together with Kinki Kappers. It’s a win/win situation right?
