Hey everyone! I have something different for you today. I have been subscribed to a monthly subscription service called Loot Socks. With this subscription, I’m receiving two pairs of socks each month that are geek/gaming related. For this post, I will show you the socks that I’ve received in the month of March and April. I will also explain how the subscription works in detail down below.
Loot Socks is a part of the LVL Up+ apparel, which is owned by Loot Crate. Loot Crate offers several subscription boxes like Gaming, Anime and Geek/Gamer Apparel. The Loot Socks subscription is payed by creditcard costs $12.99 USD (check Xe.com for the current price in Euro) per month including shipping and handling to the Netherlands. The socks are delivered in your mail box. This means that you pay $6,50 USD per pair in total. I find this a good deal for a pair of non-standard socks. We have a lot of black socks in house that are all different in shape, so it was kind of annoying to sort them every time. My boyfriend also goed through socks like crazy, which are the reasons why I’ve decided to try out this service. The socks are exclusively made for Loot Crate so you cannot find these anywhere else. Every month there will be a new theme announced and the game/geek subject will be spoiled in advance if you want to know that beforehand. The theme for March was “Versus” and for April, the theme was “Quest“.
.
The Loot Socks for the month of March themed “Versus” are the Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. vs Hydra Men’s Crew Socks and the Nintendo Mario vs. Bowser Socks.
.
The Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. vs Hydra Men’s Crew Socks are two completely different socks. They’re both black but one side has the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D logo in grey and the other has the Hydra Men’s Crew Socks logo in red. I don’t like these, I never followed the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and I’m not planning to do it either. It just seems like you have a mismatched pair of socks.
The Nintendo Mario vs. Bowser Socks have Mario on one side with a green background and Bowser on the other side with a red background. You can only wear this in one way so it’s not possible (or else uncomfortable) to Mario/Bowser on the same side. Since you can see that the other image is on the other side, I don’t find these mismatched and I really like them since I’m a Nintendo fanatic.
I was not a fan of the March theme, I prefer matching socks so these were a bit too much for me.
The Loot Socks for the month of April themed “Quest” are the Kingdom Hearts Heartless Socks and The Legend of Zelda 8-Bit Link Socks.
The Kingdom Hearts Heatless Socks are are black and have red and white Heartless icons, crowns and keyhole shapes all over. Love, love, love anything Kingdom Hearts and these are adorable.
The Legend of Zelda 8-Bit Link Socks are black and have a very cute 8-bit Link on the front of the socks. They do look a bit warped when worn. I’m not a huge The Legend of Zelda fan but I like the games and retro stuff is always great.
I really love that there were two gaming related items in the month of April and both games that I enjoy.
The Loot Socks subscription service is very unique and I really love that you get exclusive items. Each sock that you get is completely different from another and it’s very versitale. The only thing that bothers me a bit is that you cannot pick a size range. Each sock is completely different in size. Some of them are super long, especially the Mario vs. Bowser Socks so you can see the image. The downside is that all the socks are narrow. If I pull them completely up, it feels like my calves are constricted of my blood supply. I do have thick calves so I have to wear pushed down. This is not a problem for the Kingdom Hearts socks but it is for the full-image socks like the Mario vs. Bowser Socks and The Legend of Zelda 8-Bit Link Socks. The fabric might loosen up a bit over time but just keep this in mind if you’re interested in subscribing. These months socks are not available any longer. You can subscribe from the month of June, which is themed “Dystopia”. There will be socks from Fallout and Star Trek. I will be reviewing these socks every 2 months like I did with this one.
The Loot Socks subscription is payed by creditcard costs $12.99 USD (check Xe.com for the current price in Euro) per month including shipping and handling to the Netherlands. You can subscribe via Lootcrate.com. If you’re really planning on subscribing, you can use this link as a referral for myself, this saves me $5 USD for the next subscription but this is of course not necessary if you don’t want to get subscribed through me.
