NAK is an Australian professional brand that offers a variety of hair products. All their products are sulfate and paraben free. For this review, I’m going to try out a few of their products, which are the Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner, Repl.ends Spray, Shine Mist.
The packaging of the NAK products looks simple and professional. The shampoo, conditioner and spray come in a plastic, silver bottle with violet details. The mist comes in a black, aluminum spray bottle with pink details. All products prepares your hair for heat styling, which is very convenient for professionals and for those who style their hair daily. I usually air-dry my hair (because I’m lazy), so it doesn’t really have a daily benefit for myself personally.
The NAK Nourishing Shampoo (€ 17,75/375 ml) and Conditioner (€ 17,75/375 ml) are suitable normal, coarse, dry or colored hairtypes. It contains sea-collagen, pathenol and vitamin E which helps to repair hair and improve the elasticity. They are mildy cleansing, re-hydrating and protects against color fading. The formula is really thick and rich, the Shampoo even looks like a conditioner when it comes to its thickness.
According to the description, this combination basically improves the overall condition of the hair while giving protection to heat and color fading. I have dry hair and sometimes color my hair too, so this would definitely be a great combo for my hair type.
The NAK Repl.ends Spray (€ 17,75/250 ml) is suitable for all hair types. It is a leave conditioner that gives re-hydration by adding moisture and shine, de-tangles, strengthens hair, improves the quality of dry, damaged hair, preventing breakage and splitting ends. It also makes the hair less porous and protects against heat.
The NAK Shine Mist (€ 17,75/150 g) is also suitable for all hair types. It is a conditioning shine spray that gives a long lasting shine as a finishing product after styling. The formula is weightless and protects the hair fibers.
Here are before/after pictures of my hair using all the NAK products that were mentioned. I first used the Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner and let my hair air dry. Then, I used the Repl.ends Spray on the tips of my hair and Shine Mist on my entire hair.
My hair looks fuller, healthy and shiny. I think my hair looks fuller because of the improved elasticity and it feels more lightweight, which makes my hair a bit more wavy thus more voluminous. My hair definitely feels less coarse, softer and smooth so I don’t have any problems with tangles. My hair also doesn’t feel greasy and I’m still able to wash my hair once/twice a week with dry shampoo sessions in between like I always do. I always had problems with dry and split ends, but the Repl.ends Spray really makes them soft and re-hydrated, which makes it my favorite product of the bunch.
I’m really satisfied and impressed with all the NAK products. I also don’t think its very expensive looking at the amount you get per bottle. I think these products are great for dry and colored hair, especially if you use heated hair styling products on a regular basis.
You probably won’t get much benefit out of these products if you have thin hair, since this only gave my hair more volume because it became more wavy. This happens with my hair when it gets lighter and has better elasticity but if you have thin, non-dry, straight hair, it will probably not do much. However, the product is not recommended for thin hair and description does not promise to give volume anyway.
The NAK products are available at several (Dutch) webstores like JohnBeerens.com and Haarshop.nl. I would suggest to use Google to find the webstore of your choice because there are plenty of options!
NAK has a ton of hair products for all different hairtypes, so I would definitely check out their collection to see what’s available for yours.
