SugarBearHair – Hair Vitamins Review

Beautiful hair starts from withinSugarBearHair is a chewable, vegetarian multi-vitamin formulated to create the perfect conditions for improving the quality of your hair by supporting hair growth and making your hair look more shiny, stronger and healthy. This product has been promoted by many celebrities and influencers around the world and already has tons of happy customers. I’ve received a few bottles of SugarBearHair hair vitamins to try these out myself and see if the product is as good as everyone claims it to be. I’m going to give you more information about this multi-vitamin and if this worth for you to try out in today’s post.

The SugarBearHair hair vitamins come in a bottle containing 60 pieces of vitamins. The brand recommends to take two vitamins each day, so one bottle is enough for 30 days. What I like about these vitamins is that you can take the daily dose together, separately, with and without a meal so you can take them depending on your preference. It shouldn’t be harmful if you take more vitamins per day but it isn’t worth doing so, since your body doesn’t save up more vitamins than it needs and transfers it to your urine to dispose of it.

I’m really bad at remembering when to take supplements when it needs to be taken at a certain time so I often forget. I’ve been taking the SugarBearHair hair vitamins each morning with my breakfast and I haven’t forgotten ever since I’ve started using them because it is just so convenient. You don’t need any water and taste very nice.

The SugarBearHair hair vitamins are made with juice of real berries, so it has a sweet, tangy and fruity taste. I do notice a “vitamin” after taste but I don’t mind the after taste at all because it’s very subtle. The product is gelatin-free, so it doesn’t have a bouncy consistency, but more of a soft and chewy consistency. These multi-vitamins are however, not Vegan but Vegetarian since it contains Vitamin D derived from sheep wool. The brand is however trying to find a substitute to make the product completely Vegan.

The SugarBearHair hair vitamin contain clinically proven ingredients to support hair growth such as Biotin and Vitamin B12. It also contains Vitamin A, Vitamin C, Vitamin D, Vitamin E, Vitamin B-6, Folic Acid, Pantothenic Acid, Iodine, Zinc, Choline, Inositol, as the active vitamins and minerals. The product has no side-effects however, sensitivity and allergies are not considered a side-effect so if you’re sensitive to one of these ingredients and/or if you are pregnant, if would be best to consult your doctor first.

Another important thing to note is that SugarBearHair does not contain any hormones, so hair that grows on the rest of your body will not be influenced by the vitamins, since the hair growth is dependent on hormones.

Here are some explanations directly taken from SugarBearHair.com about what these ingredients do:

Vitamin A (Palmitate) – Vitamin A is a powerful vitamin found in sweet potatoes, carrots and kale. This powerhouse contributes to the health of your skin and scalp by helping to promote your blood’s oxygen circulation. Increased oxygen circulation to the scalp helps to feed your scalp the vital nutrients your hair needs for longer and stronger hair. This marvelous vitamin has antioxidant properties that helps to protect your hair follicles from problems such as excessive shedding or hair fall. If you suffer from a dry scalp, you’d love Vitamin A for its ability to moisturize the scalp by supporting your body’s natural oil production (known as sebum).
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) – A study found in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology references the use of Vitamin C to improve hair growth. The subjects who were given a hair vitamin complex containing Vitamin C experienced faster hair growth compared to those who didn’t take the Vitamin C containing complex. This is because Vitamin C is vital for your body to develop collagen, which helps your hair to grow stronger from the inside out. This youth activating antioxidant helps to protect your scalp from damage by combating free-radicals. Free-radicals can cause hair loss over time. All successful hair care formulas contain Vitamin C due to its amazing hair growing properties.
Vitamin E – Vitamin E is essential for blood circulation. Besides healing and protecting your hair, it can also help with fine lines and wrinkles on your skin. Like Vitamin A, this vitamin helps to bring enough oxygen to your scalp to promote healthy hair growth. This rich antioxidant also acts as a safeguard against damage to your hair follicles. When taken in combination with Vitamin C, your hair can improve its strength and elasticity.
Vitamin B-6 – Vitamin B-6 is a great vitamin to take for hair loss. By helping your body to form cells and bring oxygen to your scalp, your hair follicles will be able to produce healthier hair. Foods such as sunflower seeds, chicken, and tuna contain Vitamin B-6. When taken with zinc, the two work together to help block a substance in our bodies called DHT, which can cause hair loss.
Folic Acid (Vitamin B-9) – Folic Acid is a fascinating vitamin that is crucial for your body to repair your DNA. This vitamin actively supports cell division so that your hair follicles can produce healthy hair. Reducing hair loss and preventing thinning is what Folic Acid does best! It is best to take Folic Acid with Vitamin B-12. Having a deficiency in one of these vitamins can cause excessive hair breakage or hair loss. To keep the balance, be sure to take both of these marvelous vitamins together!
Vitamin B-12 – Vitamin B-12 gives an amazing boost to your hair growth by supporting your body’s energy process and helping to form red blood cells. Red blood cells are responsible for feeding oxygen to your scalp, which helps your hair to grow longer. People who take Vitamin B-12 notice an increase in energy and vitality.
Biotin – Biotin is one of the most important vitamins you can take to promote hair growth. Biotin supports the health of your scalp by producing fatty acids which in turn helps the health of your hair. A deficiency in essential fatty acids produces symptoms such as dry, scaly or flaky skin, dandruff, dry, brittle hair or eczema, according to the ProHealth website, all of which may lead to hair loss. Eating foods high in biotin or taking a biotin supplement will help combat hair loss due to a poor diet. When you take biotin, you are also helping to support your hair’s keratin, making your hair stronger. Keratin is what your hair, skin, and nails are made of. Taking biotin with other B vitamins will create a powerful combination to help combat hair loss. If you are prone to breakouts, we recommend taking a biotin supplement with Vitamin B-5. Biotin when combined with B-5 helps to reduce the chances of acne or breakouts in the skin.
Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5) – Vitamin B-5 helps to stimulate hair growth by supporting your hair’s natural keratin. It helps to replace hair that was lost due to excessive shedding or breakage. Without Vitamin B-5, it would be difficult for your hair to grow at a steady rate. The structure of your hair and skin depends on this wonderful vitamin to stay healthy. Like other B vitamins, Vitamin B-5 nourishes your follicles from the inside out and is responsible for the shine and luster of your hair.
Coconut Oil – This popular oil has been used worldwide to help support hair and scalp health. Because of its similarity to our scalp’s natural oils, coconut oil is one of the few oils that can actually moisturize your hair. This helps to prevent breakage and hair loss. You can also massage it into your scalp to treat dry scalp issues and to moisturize your roots.

Now for the most important question: Do the SugarBearHair hair vitamins work? Since these multi-vitamin consist of clinically proven ingredients, I’m almost certain they do in theory. These aren’t miracle workers though. The vitamins create an environment for optimal hair growth, so only newly grown hair will benefit from it. Already damaged hair will not be repaired or get better from using the vitamins. Therefore, it will take a long time to see the results. With hair averagely growing about 1.25 cm per month, it will take probably up to three months before you see results. It also makes sense that newly grown hair will revert to it’s old status when you stop taking the vitamins, but how long that takes to completely revert depends on the individual.

I’ve been taking these hair vitamins for about a month and I don’t notice anything when it comes to my hair, but I do notice a big difference in my nails. I have very thin, brittle nails and due to the addition of Biotin, my nails are definitely growing much faster and stronger now! My nails normally only look this long during a holiday (and broke off immediately as I started working again) and I’m absolutely amazed how they look and how strong they feel.

Another big question is: Do I recommend the SugarBearHair hair vitamins? Yes and no, that really depends on the person. If you’re a healthy eater and getting these vitamins daily through food, I wouldn’t recommend taking extra since your body removes it anyway. I also wouldn’t recommend SugarBearHair to someone who is disciplined enough to take regular hair vitamins in pill form every day because SugarBearHair is expensive. You can get drugstore hair vitamins for 1/10th of the price and they work the same way (look at the ingredients list to compare), but you have to be able to remember to take them daily in order to make them work.

That said, I’m not one of those people. I don’t eat very healthy and I’m absolutely not disciplined. I’ve tried to take hair vitamins in pill form (because they contain Biotin and I have problems with brittle nails) but I hate how big they are and that I had to take two of them during a meal. I forget to take them constantly and I really don’t have that problem with SugarBearHair. Therefore, these vitamins were made for someone like me and if you’re the same, I would definitely suggest to try them. I really like the taste of the vitamins so I always remember, especially since I can decide when I want to take them, making it a joy every day instead of an annoyance. I can’t wait to see if I can see some results after taking the SugarBearHair hair vitamins for three months.

The SugarBearHair hair vitamins have a suggested retail price of €35,00 Euro per jar (enough for 30 days) at several online retailers such as verbeterhaar.nl and johnbeerens.com.
