Hey all! I’m back from my holidays to Indonesia. I’ve been there for 26 days in total to several islands and had an amazing time. It is definitely a country that lies close to my heart. I’ve also done a lot of shopping in Jakarta, the capitol city of Indonesia. There are tons of malls that have some awesome stores/brands like Sephora, Etude House, Glamglow, Make Up For Ever and much more. I want to show what I’ve bought during my time there and show you an impression of the stores and brands in this make-up haul and more like videogame/manga related items and candy.
I’m first going to show you an impression of what kind of beauty stores/brand you can find in Jakarta. I’ve been to several malls there, Grand Indonesia Mall, Kelapa Gading Mall, Mall of Indonesia and Kota Kasablanka Mall. These are less than 30 minutes away from each other. There are so many other malls out there, it’s too much to count. So Jakarta is really an amazing place for shopping addicts.
As you can see, there are so many different beauty stores and brands to check out. Some of the items are cheaper compared to the prices in the Netherlands, others are a bit more expensive or the same price. So it’s not like you can get a better deal in Indonesia, except for when they have a special offer of course. What you also usually see is that the brands are slower with collection releases. They mostly get stuff from the previous collections/products while Europe/US already has a new collections/products. For example, Make Up For Ever did not yet have the new Ultra HD Foundation there. This does not have to be a negative thing though, you can sometimes get stuff from collections from brands like MAC that are sold out in the Netherlands but are still available there.
I’ve bought two sheet masks at Etude House in the types Shea Butter and Royal Jelly. There was also a lot of make-up products there but I found it quite expensive. I haven’t tried these masks yet.
Have you ever noticed that most of the False Eyelashes are made in Indonesia? I’ve purchased two different Ardell False Lashes in the styles 385 Black and 102 Demi Black, together with the Ardell LashTite Dark Adhesive Lashglue. I haven’t tried the last two products yet but I love the 385 Black lashes. They have a lot of space in between them so you can still see your eye make-up very well while using these lashes.
This was a very big splurge. The Glamglow Masks are a bit more expensive compared to the prices in the Netherlands however, there was an offer on these, buy 2 get one free. You usually don’t see offers like that in the Netherlands for the brand Glamglow so I had to get these. I’ve purchased the Thirstymud, Powermud and got the Youthmud for free. I’ve only tried the Thirstymud once and I love that one, so I’m very curious for the other two. I will probably do a blogpost about these. Not sure yet if I’m going to keep one separate for a giveaway, let me know what you guys think, would one of these masks be a nice prize for a giveaway?
YAASSS more masks! This time they’re from Tony Moly. Again, there were so many different products but I didn’t want to spend too much money, so I skipped the make-up part. I’ve purchased the Tony Moly Panda’s Dream Eye Patch and the Tony Moly I’m Real Tea Tree Mask Sheet. I’ve tried both and they’re both very nice and soothing to use.
This is the only make-up that I’ve purchased. I was curious about the Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks and I fell in love with the shade Aria. Man… the formula of this Liquid Lipstick is amazing! I think I like it even more than the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks formula, so this one is my favorite at the moment, there will definitely be a review of this product! I’ve also purchased the Make Up For Ever Step 1 Radiant Primer #7 Blue, since I sometimes have trouble with redness. I like it so far but I need to test it some more. Since I’ve gotten more than during my vacation, I’ve purchased the Make Up For Ever HD Foundation, so the original one. I really like using this foundation (with my beautyblender). It has a completely different finish compared to the Ultra HD version, much more coverage and completely matte, normally not my cup of tea but this one does look very nice on my skin.
I’ve gotten a few Games/Manga related type of stuff. I’ve purchased a very cute Retro type T-shirt, oversized so I can use this as a T-shirt dress type of thing. There was a store with gumball type of machines which had some very awesome One Piece figures, so I had to take a chance and got a Franky figure, like he would say.. SUUUUUUUUUUPER! There are also stores where you can print personal stickers, you know.. for kids so you can label their stuff when they go to school, and for people who have a weird sticker addiction like me. So I’ve gotten stickers in two styles, Mario and that cute little cat that is very popular, I have no idea from which (manga) series this cat is though.
Finally, I’ve purchased some candy. There is Ice Tea brand called Sosro, I love their Ice Tea so when I saw that they also sell regular tea, I had to get a few packs. I was also curious about Kit Kat’s with a Green Tea flavor. Not much a fan of these unfortunately. I am a huuuuuuuuge fan of the Coconut Delight Oreo’s. Seriously, best.. Oreo.. taste.. EVER! I’m addicted to this stuff, I hope this flavor will come to the Netherlands someday.
I wish I was more prepared! Shopping in Indonesia was amazing. I had a blast and I can’t wait to go back someday.
Let me know what you think about these products. Have you ever visited Indonesia?
