The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip is a shade that was originally released during the Black Friday sale last year. It has been sold out ever since but fortunately, the brand has decided to add Catnip to the permanent range and will be restocked
somewhere this Spring right now. So for this post, I’m going to show you swatches of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip.
I have reviewed quite a few shades of the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks with all the details about things like the packaging. You can find the previous review with all the in-depth details here. You can find all the shades that I’ve reviewed and swatched here.
The Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks is one of my favorite formulas up to date, together with Jeffree Star, Kat von D and Stila. The lipstick tube is beautiful but very prone to flaking off, especially the gold detail part. If you want to keep the packaging intact when traveling, I suggest to put the lipstick in it’s box before putting it in your purse.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip is nicely pigmented and fully opaque using one coat. It needs about 5 minuted to dry and become matte. The formula isn’t smudge and transfer-proof. It becomes more smudge and transfer-proof over time, you can do it more quickly if you dab a tissue on top of the lipstick until it is completely dry and no lipstick transfers on the tissue.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip has a dark, muted Magenta shade. The lipstick is simple to apply without any patchiness. Even though Magenta is more blue-toned, it still looks kind of warm, which is just perfect for my type of skin tone. The formula feels very comfortable for a liquid lipstick, but still drying over time. This shade lasts all day on me but spot-treating after a meal is necessary.
I have to be honest with you, Catnip wasn’t really interesting for me when I saw the swatches. I purchased this shade solely for the name, since I’m all crazy-cat lady like that. But I have to say, I’m so happy that I did because I’m in love with this shade now. It is girly but still so sophisticated. I think that this shade is special because it is more muted. Normally you see shades like these that are more bold and bright, so I think that the shade itself might not be super special but the way it’s looking so soft and muted makes it special.
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Catnip is permanently available for $20 USD at anastasiabeverlyhills.com (excluding shipping and custom taxes, check xe.com for the current price in Euro). If you order now, it might be on time for Valentines Day, because this would be a perfect shade in my opinion for that occasion!
