For the holiday/winter season, Artdeco has a new glamour collection called Arctic Beauty. This collection is inspired by the Artic area like the North pole, Glaciers and the Northern Light. Therefore, a lot products in this collection consists of cool-toned shades like pink, purple, silver. I have received three products of the Artdeco Arctic Beauty Collection: the Glam Stars Liquid Eyeliner, the Glam Stars Lip Gloss and the Arctic Beauty Highlighter, which I’m going to review for you today.
Let’s start with the Artdeco Glam Stars Liquid Eye Liner in #9. This Liquid Eyeliner has a brown transparent liquid base with small flecks of light champagne gold and brown glitters. The wand is black and has a small precision brush tip. The transparent tube hold 4.5 mL of product.
Here are swatches of the Artdeco Glam Stars Liquid Eye Liner in #9. The precision brush makes it easy to make small lines. This picture doesn’t do the glitter justice, it really sparkles when I’m moving my hand. The base is a little bit strange though, it is very runny doesn’t dry on me. Even after ten minutes, it still didn’t dry. When I wiped on the swatches with my finger, the base was gone but the glitter was still there, since the base is very transparent anyways, it doesn’t really matter. I would suggest to use some eyeshadow or an opaque eyeliner before applying the glitter on top.
I’ve created an eyelook using the I used the Artdeco Glam Stars Liquid Eye Liner in #9 on my bottom eyelid. Again, pictures don’t do it justice. It really gives a beautiful sparkly look, perfect for the holidays. I think this would also be great to use on top of a winged eyeliner, or an inner corner highlight. It does have a bit of glitter fallout over time, so make sure that you use something to put the liner on top to prevent that as much as possible.
The Artdeco Glam Stars Liquid Eye Liner in #9 is available for €10,95 Euro at Douglas.nl.
Next up is the Artdeco Glam Stars Lip Gloss in #33 – Glam Frozen Rose. The gloss comes in a transparent plastic tube with black and silver details, feels sturdy and contains 5 mL of product. The wand has a regular doe foot applicator.
The swatch of Artdeco Glam Stars Lip Gloss in #33 – Glam Frozen Rose looks very opaque for a gloss. The shade of the gloss is a light, cool-toned, nude pink with a frost finish. The consistency is very rich and thick, but it doesn’t feel sticky at all. It also feels nice and moisturizing. It also has a subtle “powdery make-up” scent, which I only notice during application.
Unfortunately, the Artdeco Glam Stars Lip Gloss in #33 – Glam Frozen Rose doesn’t do anything on my lips when it’s applied by itself. It doesn’t look as opaque as on the swatch, so you can’t see anything of the frosted look or the shade itself.
Used on top of another product however, it completely changes everything. I wish I made a before picture of this! I used the MAC Lip Pencil in Vino all over my lips, then the Artdeco Glam Stars Lip Gloss in #33 – Glam Frozen Rose on top, focussing on the middle part. I went over the corners again with MAC Lip Pencil in Vino to make an ombre lip. Seriously, how plump and gorgeous do my lips look compared to the picture above!? A combo like this would be beautiful for the holidays. You can do this with any shade of lipstick or lip pencil.
The Artdeco Glam Stars Lip Gloss in #33 – Glam Frozen Rose is available for €11,95 Euro at Douglas.nl.
Lastly, I would like to show you the Artdeco Arctic Beauty Highlighter. I’m obsessed with the packaging. The compact is black and is decorated with matte black and silver snowflakes. It looks so gorgeous and luxurious. I really love snowflake structures, so this one of my favorite packaging of all the make-up products that I own.
The Artdeco Arctic Beauty Highlighter has a “click latch” as an opening/closing system, so when you hear a “click” when closing the compact, you know that it is properly closed. The highlighter also has a compact mirror. The highlighter consists of three parts and is 10 grams in total.
Again, I just can’t stop writing about the details of this product. The highlighter consists of three parts and has snowflakes pressed details. I almost find it wasteful to use the highlighter, because I don’t want to ruin the details. The shades are a cool-toned taupe, pink and grey-ish brown. There’s also a glittery silver snowflake in the middle, which is an overspray. I would suggest to remove the overspray with a brush or with your finger before applying the highlighter, since the glitters are very chunky.
Here are swatches of the Artdeco Arctic Beauty Highlighter. From left to right, I swatched the taupe (left bottom corner part of the compact), pink (middle part of the compact), grey-ish brown (right upper part of the compact) and all shades mixed. The powders feel soft and finely milled, All shades have a beautiful shimmer without any chunks of glitter. You can also use the shades as an eyeshadow. I didn’t try to use the highlighter as an eyeshadow yet, but I think you can definitely make a sheer, shimmery nude eyeshadow look using these shades.
Here’s a before/after shot using the Arctic Beauty Highlighter on the tops of my cheekbones. I mixed all shades on my brush for this application. The highlighter gives a beautiful, pale glow to my face, which is very noticeable on my skin since the shades are cool-toned. I think the highlighter would not be suitable for darker skin tones but amazing lighter skin tones. For me, I think it would be better to use the taupe and pink shades next time.
The Arctic Beauty Highlighter is available for €19,95 Euro at the Douglas stores and Douglas.nl.
Here is my full-faced look using all three products of the Artdeco Arctic Beauty Collection. All products are great to use for the holidays for a glamorous holiday look. If you have a lighter skin tone, I would definitely suggest to check out the Arctic Beauty Highlighter, which is my favorite product of this collection.
All the products of the limited edition Artdeco Arctic Beauty Collection are available at the Douglas stores and Douglas.nl. There are many more products in the collection like a blush and lipsticks, really worth checking out!
