Benefit Boi-ing Brightening and Hydrating Concealer

Benefit Cosmetics has completely re-vamped the concealers in their collection, combining them into the Boi-ing family, as well as introducing the new Boi-ing Airbrush Concealer.  There are four different Boi-ing concealers in the family, each having their own beneficial, correcting properties. For today, I’m going to show you two of these concealers, which are the Benefit Boi-ing Brightening and Hydrating Concealer.

The Benefit Boi-ing Brightening and Hydrating Concealer were originally known as Erase Paste and Fake up. The packaging and names were completely changed and from what I understand, is that the formula is the same as before. All concealers now have similar looking packaging. Their boxes look like erasers and the product packaging looks like the eraser end of a pencil.

The Benefit Boi-ing Brightening Concealer (€24,48/4,4 g) is a full-coverage concealer that covers and brightens dark under-eye circles. To use this concealer, dab under eyes or onto face, then pat & blend gently with fingertip. It is available in three different shades, No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 for either Light, Medium or Deep skin.

The Benefit Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer (€24,48/3,5 g) is a sheer-coverage concealer that hides dark shadows and visibly smooths fine lines and keeping the skin hydrated thanks to the ingredients Vitamin E and Apple Seed Extract.  This is also available in the three different shades No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3.

The Benefit Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer has the concealer itself on the inside of the product and the hydrator on the outside, which can be used together or used separately if needed. To use this concealer, glide under eyes or onto face and gently pat with fingertips to blend. What I like about this concealer is that you can also use this over any concealer throughout the day to refresh your look instantly.

Here are swatches of the Benefit c (left) and the Hydrating Concealer (right) both in No. 2. The Brightening Concealer has a peachy/melon undertone which color-corrects dark/blue shades. It is super creamy and pigmented. The Hydrating Concealer has a yellow undertone and glides easily on my skin. For the swatch, I’ve mixed the concealer and hydrator together , which results in a sheer finish but you can also increase the coverage by only scooping out the middle part.

On the left picture, I don’t have any make-up on my face. On the right, I’ve used the Benefit Boi-ing Brightening Concealer under my eyes on the left part of my face and the Boi-ing Hydrating Concealer on the big, red blemish between my eyebrows. I’ve added a bit more of the middle part of the concealer to give it an increased coverage. I left out the right part of my face as well as the blemish on the left side of my chin to show you what the difference is with and without the concealer. I’ve applied both concealers as Benefit has recommended, using my finger and patting the product in.

In this picture, I’ve applied a light to medium coverage foundation over the Benefit Boi-ing Brightening and Hydrating Concealer using a Beautyblender. I can definitely see a huge difference underneath my eyes. The Brightening Concealer has definitely brightened up the under eye area and covered the dark spot completely.

The Hydrating Concealer also did a good job in covering my blemish, you can still see the spot on my chin peeking through the foundation, so it is great to know that it can cover big red spots that I had in the previous picture. Normally, dry spots created by acne scars are highlighted by concealers but since this one is hydrating, it blends out with my skin very well. I also love that the concealer is travel-friendly so I can easily touch-up the spots when needed.

Here I’ve applied the rest of my make-up while still leaving the non-concealer areas as it is. I think the finish of both concealers is beautiful and matches the rest of my make-up perfectly. Even though my skin is dry, I think a bit of setting is needed since the concealers are super creamy.

I really like both the Benefit Boi-ing Brightening and Hydrating Concealer, with the Brightening one being my favorite of the two. Like all the other Benefit Cosmetics products, they look  adorable and I like the cohesive look of the products. You can definitely tell that they belong in the same family. I’ve actually dried the other two concealers at an event and I also think that those were very interesting. You can actually get all four concealers in a miniature version in a set in the near future. I would definitely recommend you to check out the set and try out the concealers to see which one works best for you. The only down point that I see at the moment is the shade range. Since they are only available in three shades, the lightest and darkest skintones are probably not able to use these concealers.
