Benefit Roller Liner Review

Benefit Cosmetics has expanded their Roller line with a selection of products to easily create flirty and bright looking eyes. These products are the new Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliners and the Roller Eye Bright Pencil. I’m going to show and review these products in today’s post.

Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliners

The Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliner (€24,47 Euro/1 mL each) features a precision felt tip for sharp controlled lines and a smooth application without dragging. The formula is supposed to be quickly drying and waterproof, lasting up to 24-hours without fading, flaking or smudging. The eyeliner is available in two shades, Black and Brown.

Here are swatches of the Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliner in Black (left) and Brown (right). The liners are nicely opaque and are easy to move around without any skipping. Depending on the pressure, you can easily apply thicker or thinner lines. The Black shade looks a bit more shiny in the picture but I can assure you that the finish is matte, which you can see on my eyes in a picture further below in this review.

The formula is very thin and bleeds ever so slightly but doesn’t come far since it does dry quickly. Once set, the liners do not move.

Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil

The Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil (€22,43 Euro/0,11 gr) is a product that can be applied on the eyes waterline to instantly brighten eyes, making them look larger and more awake. The formula is supposed to be creamy, comfortable and waterproof, lasting up to 8-hours.

The product comes in a twistable pencil with a very thin tip, which can be twisted up, hearing a “click” with ever turn but cannot be twisted down. I think a packaging like this prevents the product from breaking off.

The Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil has a natural looking, soft pink shade. It is creamy so it easily glides on to the skin.

For the looks above, I used the Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliner in Black on the left and Brown on the right to create the wing. I also used the Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil on the waterline.

I personally have a preference for eyeliners that have a brush tip, because felt tips have a tendency to dry on me during application. These liners did in fact, dry slightly during application but I only had to shake the liner a bit to continue, so it wasn’t a problem. Outside the felt tip, I really enjoy the formula of the liners. The matte finish looks beautiful and doesn’t smudge or bleed on me when I was wearing this for the entire day, which is a frequent problem for me since I have hooded and watery eyes.

The Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil doesn’t last for 8 hours on me but it does last for a pretty good time. I have some trouble applying some eye pencils because my eyes are so watery but this one was super easy and smooth because the formula is very creamy. Applying two coats lasts up to about four hours on me, which is rare for an eye pencil. The shade looks very natural and beautifully brightening.

The Benefit Roller Liner Eyeliners are interesting to check out if you’re a fan of felt tip liners with a matte finish, or have trouble with watery eyes because these will stay put very well. The same goes for the Benefit Roller Eye Bright Pencil. It is definitely one of the best brightening eye pencils that I’ve tried so far.

The new Benefit Roller Liner products are available at Douglas.nl and selected Douglas Stores.
