Working 5 days a week having a high-paced job can have a huge impact on my sleep and stress-levels, which in turn results in dark under-eye circles. Bobbi Brown has an easy solution to cover those areas with their new Instant Full Cover Concealer. This concealer is supposed to have a strong pigmented coverage that brightens dark circles and softens fine lines in a blink. I’m putting the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer in Warm Beige to the test in this post.
The Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer comes in a plastic, rectangular tube with black details and a transparent part where you can see the product, containing 6 mL in total. Opening the tube reveals a regular doe foot applicator.
The shade that I’ve received is Warm Beige, one of the fifteen shades available. It is described as a medium golden beige with yellow undertones, suitable for medium skin. What I immediately noticed is that the concealer is extremely thick and creamy. It’s definitely full coverage looking at the swatch on my hand. I never had a concealer from a tube that is quite this thick. It almost seems like the product is dried up or the tube almost being empty, because it’s that thick. I personally don’t mind the consistency but I personally think this kind of formula would be better suitable in a jar than in a tube with a doe foot applicator.
In the picture above, I applied my foundation as usual (which is medium coverage) and the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer in Warm Beige under my eye on the right. As you can see, the darkness under my eye is still visible on the left. On the right side, the concealer did a great job brightening and covering up the area. I really love this shade and I think it’s a perfect match.
On this picture, I also applied the Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer in Warm Beige on the left side and the rest of my make-up. I have to say that I had to work differently than I normally would with any other concealer that I own. Because this concealer is so thick, you have to put dots on the areas where you want to apply it, swiping will pull on the skin and will take anything else off underneath. Then, I used my fingers to distribute and blend the concealer and finished using a beauty sponge on the edges to blend it with my foundation. Using a beauty sponge like I normally do doesn’t work properly, because it doesn’t distribute the product enough due to the thickness, so fingers really work best. I also had to immediately set the concealer using powder. I didn’t do that on the right side because I had to take pictures and it immediately started to crease, so setting is a must.
Here is my make-up after wearing it for about eight hours in total. My T-zone is a bit shiny, my false eyelash on the right side is loose and my lipstick has faded, but under eye area still looks great! It does look a bit creased on the right side, but that’s probably because I didn’t immediately set that side with powder.
I have been using the concealer a few times already and I love it. It has a permanent spot in my daily make-up bag. I think the finish looks amazingly natural for a full coverage concealer. I also have a dry skin type and the richness of this concealer makes my under eyes really look hydrated and flawless (with setting!). The consistency is different than any other concealer that I own but I don’t mind using my fingers and I can easily adjust to new methods, so I find it easy to work with.
The Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer is available for €34.00 Euro at several places like BobbiBrown.nl, Douglas.nl, DeBijenkorf.nl and Bobbi Brown counters at selected De Bijenkorf and Douglas stores.
