Desio Color Contact Lenses in Desert Dream

Color Contact Lenses is a fun accessory to completely change your look. Desio is an Italian brand that offers a wide variety of natural looking colored lenses. I purchased the shade Desert Dream and will be showing you all the details in this post.

Desio has three collections available, the New Sensual Beauty Lenses, Coffee Collection and Two Shades of Grey. There are fourteen different shades in total. I have very dark brown eyes and I really wanted to go for a big difference so I picked Desert Dream which is a light green shade of the New Sensual Beauty Lenses collection.

The Desio Color Contact Lenses in Desert Dream comes in a rose gold cardboard box with plum-ish brown details. The packaging looks very luxurious. The name and the power of the lens is displayed on the top of the box.

The box contains two lenses, which are sealed individually inside a solution, an instruction manual and a lens holder. I like that the lenses are sealed individually, since a lot of people use for an eyelook on Instagram, which only needs one lens. This can also give you the option to use different lens colors on each eye like blue or green which is in official terms called “Heterochromia”.

The Desio Color Contact Lenses have a long expiration date. I bought these around September/October, so the lenses have a shelf-life of about 4,5-5 years. According to the brand, you can use them for up to three months after opening. If only used on a few occasions during this time, the lenses may last longer but is still recommended that they are disposed of after the three month period to avoid the risk of infections.

The Desio Color Contact Lenses are available in Plano (plain, no power) like I have, but they’re also available for Myopia (nearsightedness) from -0.50 to -6.00  in 0.25 steps, -6.00 to -13.00 in 0.50 steps and Hyperopia (farsightedness) from +0.50 to +6.00 in 0.25 steps. There is a possibility that the lenses increase in price, which is dependent on the power. The lenses are also available for Astigmatism however, have a very high price range.

The Desio Color Contact Lenses in Desert Dream is soft and made of Polymacon which is a hydrophilic polymer, aka a plastic material that attracts water. The diameter of the lens is 14,50 mm with a base curve of 8,70 mm.

The Desio Color Contact Lenses have a natural blending effect. These lenses have a gradient from the iris to pupil. So when your pupils are small, you can see your natural eye color but it blends well due to the gradient. This definitely makes it look way more natural whereas many other brands look unnatural because they have an immediate cutout between the iris and the pupil. As you can see, the Desert Dreams still looks vibrant, even on my dark colored iris.

I really like the Desert Dreams shade. It gave me in my opinion, a drastic change to the way I look, which I was going for. I don’t think they look very unnatural but you can definitely see that these are lenses up close. It would probably look even more natural when going for a darker color.

Wearing the Desio Colored Contact Lenses is a pain in the butt. I’m not a frequent contact lens wearer and these feel as awful as any other lens that ever worn. I get used to it the more I used the lenses. I think how the lenses feel are really personal. If you are a regular contacts wearer, you probably won’t have any trouble with them. For me at least, they feel like any other color contact lens so to me, the only biggest difference compared to other brands that I’ve tried is  the natural blend and the natural variety of colors Desio offers.

The Desio Colored Contact Lenses in Desert Dream are available for €42.00 Euro (price for Plano lenses) at Desiolenses.com. Shipping is free internationally and since these are shipped from Italy, there are no extra customs fees when shipped to The Netherlands. There are discount codes given out frequently, so I would suggest to keep an eye out on their Instagram page.

UPDATE: Desio currently has a 50% discount on shades that will discontinue, including Desert Dream at outlet.desiolens.com ! This does not include free shipping, only after buying four sets.

If you’re interested in purchasing these lenses without any experience with using contacts, I would suggest to read this manual very carefully if you really want to take good care of your lenses and how to apply them correctly.

Have you ever tried wearing color contact lenses?

These are so awesome. I’ve been looking for colored contacts with my bad eyes for ages. (-9.50). They are a bit expensive for only 3 months use imo. Might try them sometime later.

These look so nice! I been wearing glasses for years, and only until recently I just got contacts. Now I hoping I can get some of these, not for work, but just you know, fashion reasons.
