Favorite Beauty Products of 2017

Today’s the last day of 2017. The year has flown by with many ups and downs. I lost the most precious thing in the world to me, but I also had the amazing opportunity to join the NYX Professional Makeup Face Awards in The Netherlands and tried a lot of amazing new products from many different brands. For today, I want to show you my Favorite Makeup Products of 2017 list. These are products that I loved to use this year so not everything in the list is released in the same year.

Base/Primer

NYX Professional Makeup Honey Dew Me Up – This primer looks cool, smells great, feels refreshing and leaves a tacky layer, which helps to apply foundation evenly. I love to use this primer during the Summer period when my skin isn’t as dry.

Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base – I use this primer whenever I want my skin to look absolutely perfect. This creamy primer is perfect for my dry skin type, it hydrates the skin and also leaves a nice, tacky base.

Make-up Studio Pre Base – This primer has a lotion type of consistency, hydrates and calms my skin before application. I love to use this primer daily.

Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer – This primer feels super smooth is perfect to reduce the appearance of pores. I like to use this primer on top of another one but only using this on the areas where my pores are bigger, which is the space next to my nose and between the brow area.

BB Cream & Foundation

Garnier Miracle Skin Perfector BB Cream (not shown) – This BB Cream is recommended for a Combination to Oily Skin Type but I actually am obsessed with this product for the Summer period. This BB Cream looks so natural on my skin, looks matte but doesn’t make my skin look flat. It isn’t pictured because I emptied it again! I’m waiting for a sale so I can stock up. I use the shade Medium, a review can be found here.

EX1 Invisiwear Liquid Foundation – This foundation was hyped in 2016, but I still love to use this! It is very creamy and the most beautiful, natural looking foundation and I’m already going through my second tube. The light to medium coverage is perfect for every day. I use the shade F100.

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation – This is in my opinion, a medium to full coverage foundation. It does a good job in looking natural while having a good coverage. This foundation looks great in pictures. I use the shade Sand, a review can be found here.

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Foundation – Similar to the previous foundation with slightly lighter coverage, making it look more natural. This one also look amazing in pictures. I use the shade

Fenty Beauty Pro Filt’r Foundation – A foundation that  actually was launched in the year 2017! This foundation makes my skin look naturally flawless and matte without looking flat. It stays on very well throughout the day. I use the shade 240, review can be found here.

Concealer

Benefit Boi-ing Brightening Concealer – I love to use this concealer for my daily looks. It’s perfect to use underneath foundation to cover dark undereye circles. I use the shade No. 2, review can be found here.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Concealer – This is the concealer that I mainly use for my make-up looks. It’s so easy to blend and gives a nice medium coverage. I use the shade Medium Light Warm.

Bobbi Brown Instant Full Cover Concealer – This is definitely a full coverage concealer, which I love to use for special occasions or when I want to look perfect for example at PR events. I use the shade Warm Beige, review can be found here.

MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer – This is an oldy but a goodie. I sometimes use to highlight certain areas for an extra contoured look, but I mostly use this as a base for eyeshadows when I want to create something like a cut crease. I use the shade NC25.

Setting/Finishing Powders

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder – I think this is one of the most popular powders for setting make-up and I’m one of the many people who loves this product! I usually only use this as a setting powder for under the eyes but sometimes for baking other areas as well.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Dim Light – This is a beautiful all-over finishing powder that I like to use on the entire face after my base is done to give my skin an overall glowy, satin finish.

MAC Cosmetics Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Plus – This is a finishing powder when I want some extra coverage. It gives my skin a nice, soft-focus, matte finish without looking flat.

Contour/Bronzer

Sans Soucis Contouring Kit –  I love both contouring shades, especially the middle one for bronzing! The left one I sometimes use for nose contouring when I want to look extra chiseled. Review can be found here.

NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette – This palette has some amazing contouring shades. I never use highlighting powders for contouring so I can’t say anything about those but I do know all the products are extremely pigmented and are really great to work with.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer – My holy-grail bronzer! This shade is just perfect to use on any occasion and is my most used bronzer ever. I think I already emptied two of these and I’m still not bored with it.

Higlighter

MAC Cosmetics Whisper of Gilt Extra Dimension Skin Finish – I’ve heard many great things about this highlighter and I finally was able to try it myself at the end of 2017. It became a favorite after the first try! It is such a perfect shade and the effect is gorgeously “wet” looking. Review can be found here.

Dose of Colors Supreme Glow Highlighter in Fuego – This highlighter was created by the brand in collaboration with Desi Perkins and Katy DeGroot. These YouTubers have an amazing style and know what looks good. This highlighter is a perfect example, it looks beautifully glossy on the skin and I can’t get enough of it. Review can be found here.

Jouer Skinnydip Powder Highlighter – This is my latest obsession. I have again heard great things about the Jouer highlighters and now I understand why. It’s another great highlighter that looks glossy and can be built up for a beautiful intense effect.

Cover FX Custom Enhancer Drops in Sunlight – This is a liquid highlighter that I love to use on its own or as a base for an extreme highlight effect. This product just blends into the skin and is also great for mixing in with foundation to give an extra glowy effect to the entire face. Review can be found here.

Eyebrows

Benefit Cosmetics Foolproof Brow Powder – This powder is absolutely perfect to create a natural looking brow. It’s so easy, quick and I love to use this on an everyday basis to make my brows look fuller. I use the shade No. 5, review can be found here.

Inglot AMC Brow Liner Gel – This brow product is very intense but creates such a beautiful perfect cut brow. A little goes a long way and it stays put all day long. I love to use this when I just feel like doing an intense brow. You can probably also make a natural looking brow if you use thin brush strokes to mimic hairs but I’m always too impatient to do so.

Eyeshadow & Eyeshadow Palettes

Dose of Colors Desi x Katy Collection The Girls Eyeshadow Palette – I love the variety of this palette and all the shades are really beautiful. They’re perfect to use all over the lids in combination with my favorite transition and crease shadows. Review can be found here.

Bobbi Brown Luxe Eyeshadows – I felt in love with the shade Heat Ray as soon as I swatched it. I became obsessed when it was applied on my eyes. I now have four different shades in total and they’re all absolutely amazing and I can’t wait to buy more of them. A review of the shade Heat Ray can be found here.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette – I’ve owned this palette for a few years and used this daily but after some time, other eyeshadow products took over. I grabbed this palette again after hearing that Too Faced was available at Douglas and I re-fell in love again. The shades are beautiful, pigmented, easy to use and smell deliciously like cocoa.

Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette – This is the most beautiful warm-toned palette that I’ve ever seen. Not only are the shades beautiful and pigmented, the palette itself is amazing to look at as well. Review can be found here.

Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye Shadow in Rose Gold Retro – I’ve received this product from my friends for my birthday and I can’t be any happier with it! This is filled with glitter, looks beautiful and is really easy to apply. It also stays on all day without any glitter fallout. This is a go-to product when I want to look glamorous without having to think of something.

Eyeliner

The Body Shop Star Stamp Liner – It might sound childish but I love the Star Stamp on this liner as something extra for my make-up look. The formula is very good so it doesn’t smudge or bleed when I apply this around my eye area. I have used the stamp side very often already with my looks like for a PR Event, going to the Star Wars movie and on New Year Eve. Review can be found here.

NYX Epic Ink Liner in Black – This liner is very comparable to the Kat von D Tattoo Liner, also having a brush tip. It only is cheaper and even better because it smudges less! It is definitely my favorite “regular” liner when I want to create a winger liner look and I will probably never use anything else (except when I have to for review purposes).

Vasanti Kajal Waterline Eyeliner in Intense Black – I have a very difficult waterline, nothing stays on there because my eyes are so watery. This black eyeliner is the first one that I’ve ever tried that actually stays on my waterline for longer than an hour.  I received this in one of my Ipsy Glam Bags so I’m really happy that I got one in my bag!

Mascara and False Lashes

theBalm Mad Lash Black Mascara (not shown) – This mascara is intensely black and gives the most amazing length and volume. I use this when I want to do a make-up look without having to wear any false lashes. Review can be found here.

Benefit Roller Lash Mascara – This mascara gives a bit more of a natural effect on my lashes, giving it a black coat so it is slightly volumizing and also gives a bit of length with a nice curl. This mascara is great to use on a daily basis or to use for blending in with false lashes.

Estee Lauder Sumptuous Extreme Mascara – I think this is my favorite mascara of all time. It gives beautiful volume and length to my lashes, the brush is very easy to use and the formula doesn’t make my lashes stiff and crumbly.

Ardell Wispies Lashes – I basically use these false lashes for most of my make-up looks because they look naturally beautiful and blend perfectly with my own lashes. I love the length and that they flare up a bit at the ends to give a more open effect to my eyes.

Annytude Lashes in Silly – These lashes are more on the intense side but still look natural. I love to use these on more intense looks because they give a more dramatic effect compared to the Ardell Wispies but still have enough gaps to show to eyeshadow when my eyes are open.

House of Lashes in Iconic – The style of these lashes are so pretty and really flattering to my eyes. I like both this one and the Iconic Lites, which are a bit shorter in length.

Lipstick and Lipgloss

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments – These liquid lipsticks have a great shade range and feel really nice on the lips. The packaging is also a joy to look at. My favorite shade so far is Don’t Stop. Review can be found here.

Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipsticks – These smell so delicious and are a joy to wear. They really feel so soft on the lips and have a great variety in shades. My favorite shades are Trophy Wife and Trendsetter. Review can be found here.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks – This brand also has a great variety of shades and the formula is very nice and comfortable. They’re also really easy available and have a nice price range. I think I used the shade Celebrity Skin the most of all the liquid lipsticks that I own because it fits with most of the make-up looks that I do outside blogging. You can find many reviews of different shades here.

Kylie Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks in Ginger and Pumpkin –  These are not the most comfortable liquid lipsticks but I’m obsessed with both of these shades. I love to pair these with a warm eye make-up look. Reviews of these shades can be found here and here.

The Body Shop Metal Lip Liquids – Metallic liquid lipsticks can cause the lips to wrinkle up which doesn’t look very flattering. These liquid lipsticks don’t do that at all and look quite flattering. I love the shade Fuchsia Chrome but the rest is also really beautiful. Review can be found here.

Jouer Lip Toppers – These glosses are so special and have the most beautiful shimmery finish. Each of them are unique on it’s own and it is a shame that pictures don’t do these justice because they’re a thousand more beautiful in real life. My favorite one is probably Sweet Tooth but it’s really difficult to pick! Reviews can be found here.

NYX Professional Makeup Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Miami Babe – This is my absolute favorite lipgloss for an everyday look. It feels super juicy and is ultra glossy without feeling sticky, the shade is beautiful and also very affordable. It also smells amazing! I’m definitely going to check for other shades because I can’t get enough of it.

I might have forgotten many other products that I loved to used in the beginning of these year but I think I overall got every product that I loved throughout the year. I can’t wait what 2018 has in store for us in terms of make-up products!

I love NYX epic ink liner in Black. No irritation does not move during the day and easy to apply.

Reminder: Do NOT use on your waterline or you will have an eye full of black liner, but this pen makes the PERFECT cat eye.
