Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis

Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis

Huda Beauty is a make-up brand owned by the beauty influencer Huda Kattan, who started from working in finance to creating her make-up brand because of her love and passion for beauty. She first started with creating a range of eyelashes, which now has expanded to many other make-up products like the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Lipstick. This lipstick formula is supposed to have a lightweight, comfortable formula that help maintain the lips hydration while having a long-lasting, matte and transfer-free finish.

Huda Beauty has launched four different mini sets of their Liquid Matte Lipsticks. Each set has their own shade range from Nudes, Browns, Reds and Pinks. For this post, I’m going to review the Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis set.

Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis

The Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis come in a typical Huda Beauty packaging, having a sleeved, carboard box. The back of the packaging shows a lipswatch of all the shades. The shades that are included in this set are  TrendsetterFlirtSpice Girl and Vixen. The first two shades, Trendsetter and Flirt are also included in the “The Nude Edition” set.

The Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Mini’s comes in a transparent, frosted tube with a black handle. I personally like the look of a frosted tube but I prefer a clear one, since it makes the content look different in shade compared to how it it applies. The shades look very similar in the tubes but they are very different, which you will see in the swatches below. The tube has a regular shaped doe foot applicator and feels really smooth to the touch.

Other than size, the Huda Beauty Liquid Matte Mini’s have the same look and applicator as the fullsize product. The mini’s contain 1,9 mL of product each, while a fullsize has a volume of 5 mL, so you get a bit less than half in the mini’s.

Here are the swatches of the Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis. Each shade has amazing pigmentation and have the same sugary, cake batter scent. The first three shades swatch evenly and have the same thin, creamy/oily formula. The last shade, Vixen is slightly different, applying a bit patchy and is thinner and feels more oily compared to the other shades.

Huda Beauty Trendsetter Liquid Matte Lipstick

Trendsetter is a warm, orange brown nude shade. The warm undertone of this nude shade makes it really unique and beautiful. I think this is a really flattering, every day shade for everyone that has a light to medium skin tone like mine. The shade applied very easy, even and smooth on my lips.

Huda Beauty Flirt Liquid Matte Lipstick

Flirt is a neutral, brown nude shade. This shade is really interesting. I think it’s neutral but it’s almost leaning to the mauve-y cool toned side but it’s definitely not a grey tone. Either way, I love how it looks. Another really beautiful brown nude that I could wear as an every day shade. This is another shade applied even and smooth.

Huda Beauty Spice Girl Liquid Matte Lipstick

Spice Girl is a mauve-y brown shade. This is definitely a 90’s type of lip shade which is really popular at the moment. I love shades like this and I’m really obsessed by it. This is another shade that has an amazing formula and application. It’s immediately opaque, applies even and lasts all day with small touch-ups after eating and/or drinking which is the same for the previous shades.

Huda Beauty Vixen Liquid Matte Lipstick

Vixen is a dark, reddish brown shade. I think the slight brown tone of this shade make it look really vampy and bold. I love shades like this one. It’s sophisticated but edgy in one. This shade applies slightly patchy but it evens out eventually. You also have to be careful with this shade seeping into fine lines, which happens really quickly during application because the formula is so thin. I would definitely suggest to apply a liner together with this shade if you have trouble with fine lines.

Here’s an overview of all the shades. Each formula applies really smooth and feels moisturizing, which is crazy for a liquid lipstick but in a good way. Like mentioned before, the formula is quite thin and oily so you have to be careful not getting the lipstick on your teeth, especially with the shade Vixen, which is slightly thinner compared to the others. However, when it has completely dried over two to three minutes, the shade becomes smudge proof. The shades stay sticky and do transfer a tiny bit, but it’s really just a tiny amount that comes off.

I’ve also created a clip for Instagram applying all the shades:

I’m completely obsessed with the Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis set. I love that there’s a good variety in shades while still having a brown tone in all of them. All shades are definitely wearable and to me, the formula is one of the best ones around. The fact that you get four shades for the price of two is just awesome. I’m really looking forward to try the other sets too, because I need them all. I have to say that this set and the Nude set contains two of the same shades so I would suggest to get either this one or the nude set if you’re interested, it’s probably not worth it to get both.

Huda Beauty The Brown Edition Liquid Matte Minis is available for £33.00 GBP (check Xe.com for the current converted price in Euro) at CultBeauty.co.uk. This is a webstore based in the UK, so there’s no extra customs fees. You also get free shipping when you spend over £50 GBP.
