The Ipsy Glam Bag is a monthly subscription service co-founded by the talented Youtuber Michelle Phan. Each month, subscribers receive a custom designed Glam Bag with deluxe samples and full-sized beauty products. The Ipsy Glam Bag is only available in the U.S. but thanks to Shipito, I was able to subscribe and try out the Ipsy Glam Bag for myself. My first bag is from June 2016 themed “Rebel Rebel”.
The Ipsy Glam Bag June 2016 looks very fun and edgy with colorful graffiti artwork covering the entire bag. The theme “Rebel Rebel” is about being creative, always try to do new things and feel confident to be your own unique self. The contents of the Ipsy Glam Bag is different for everyone. You have to fill in your preferences and style during subscription so that you get your own bag filled with your personal preferences. Ipsy stylists like Chrisspy, Desi Perkins, Lustrelux and Promise Phan pick out products to feature in the bags each month.
My Ipsy Glam Bag June 2016 contains five products. I believe that three products are fullsized and two deluxe miniatures. There is also a card with the theme and the beautiful Katy aka Lustrelux. I will put down a description of the product according to Ipsy and give you my opinion afterwards.
Royal & Langnickel MODA Crease/Smudge Brush (full size) – Everything you could want in an eye brush. Sweep and smudge. Use with powders and creams. Plus, a no-slip grip. Comfortable handle means you can be super accurate with your application. 100% vegan so it’s safe for sensitive eyes
Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray (miniature size)– Get effortlessly amazing waves with soft texture, body and shine. No crispy strands to be seen or felt. Hydrolyzed silk and Provitamin B5 add moisture and shine. Powerful UV Protectors absorb ultraviolet light. That means no color-fade. Works on even the straightest (and waviest) hair.
Vasanti Cosmetics Kajal Eyeliner in Black (full size) – Get that intense look of ancient Indian eyeliner–Kajal is the new black. A rich and dramatically smooth blend. Created with your waterline in mind. Stays all day. Allows for extra playtime, so you can adjust and blend away. Creamy consistency easily smudges to become a shadow.
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Fireball (miniature size) – A peachy-gold shimmer shade that transitions to pink tones. This multifaceted shadow switches up its look in different lighting. Feels like velvet. Glides on softly. Lasts all day (and all night). Won’t get caught up in your creases.
Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Illuminating Baked Highlighter in Bellisima (full size) – Cool tones for hot days. While most highlighters are warm-toned, this unique highlighter is a pink standout that will keep you glowing all through the night. Subtle rose gold shimmer with an icy finish. Baked color for a longer-lasting look.
Here are swatches of the products from left to right: Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Fireball, Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Illuminating Baked Highlighter in Bellisima, Vasanti Cosmetics Kajal Eyeliner in Black. The duochrome shift Fireball is very subtle is also less pigmented as I expected. It is still a nice shade. Bellisima is a very unique highlighter shade. Light, cool toned products tend to turn grey on me but this stays nicely pink and looks frosty, it doesn’t contain any chunks of glitter. The Vasanti Cosmetics Kajal Eyeliner is intensely black and glides on super easy. It is blendable for a short period before it sets. It stays on very well, also in the waterline and takes an oil-based remover to clean this up. I haven’t tried this as an eyeshadow yet but I think it would do just fine.
I created this look using all the products of the Ipsy Glam Bag June 2016. I used the Royal & Langnickel MODA Crease/Smudge Brush for blending out the eyeshadow in my crease and smudging the eyeshadow on my bottom lid. The brush isn’t super soft but not scratchy at all, it does a good job for blending and smudging so I’m happy to add this to the rest of my brushes. I used Urban Decay Fireball on top of another eyeshadow on my lid and as an inner corner highlight. It looks way better on my lids than swatching on my hands.
I used the Vasanti Cosmetics Kajal Eyeliner in Black in my waterline and lashline. Really love how black this eyeliner is and it’s now in my travel bag. I used the Dirty Little Secret Cosmetics Bellisima on the top of my cheeks, cupids bow and on the bridge and tip of my nose. It is very noticeable due to the frosty finish and I really love how it looks since it doesn’t contain chunky glitter. Finally, I used the Marc Anthony Dream Waves Beach Spray in my hair. My own hair’s tips are a dried up mess, but the Beach Spray does not make it feel any more crispy. It has a nice pina colada scent and makes my hair look a bit more wavy. I really wish I had this when I had my violet hair, since this product also has UV-protection.
I’m really happy to finally get the Ipsy Glam Bag. The products are so amazing and the bag is super cute. The Ipsy Glam Bag is $10 USD per month. When you use your Shipito address to send the bag to the Netherlands, it will cost an additional $7,25 USD making a total of $17,25 USD per month, which is about €15,50 Euro (check Xe.com for the exact converted price). It took about 3 weeks to arrive. I think that the bag is well worth the price and way better than the products in the Dutch subscription boxes. I will definitely keep this subscription for the coming months.
If you want, you can subscribe to the Ipsy Glam Bag using this link. This is an affiliate link, which gives me 250 points when someone subscribes via that link. With these points, I can get additional products in my next box, but you don’t have to ofcourse! 🙂

What lipstick color are you wearing? I love it and have been looking for a deep berry color like that one or in your bio photo.
Thank you,
