Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Mini Lipstick Set Holiday 2017

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

The brand Kat von D has released the new Limited Edition Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set for the holiday season, featuring seven existing shades and one new exclusive shade. I have a bunch of Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks and have already reviewed a lot of shades. For this post, I’m going to show you swatches of all the shades in the brand new Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Mini Lipstick Set for holiday 2017.

The  Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Mini Lipstick Set comes in a cardboard packaging that has a cut out front which shows the actual lipsticks and swatches with the names on the back. The packaging also contains information about the ingredients of each individual shade.

The tubes are all transparent so the complete product is visible. The handle has a matte black with silver roses and filigree printed on top, artwork that Kat von D herself has created. Her logo is also printed on the transparent part.

The Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipsticks contain 3 mL of product. The fullsize Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks contain 6,6 mL of product, so you slightly get less than half of the fullsized product. The doe foot applicator of the mini is similar to the full size. The wand is of course a lot shorter. The doe foot feels comfortable and soft when applying the lipstick and is completely firm. You can check out a comparison of the tubes and wands here.

Here are the swatches of all the lipsticks in the Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set. All lipsticks perform different so I will be discussing them individually down below. What is the same for all the lipsticks is the subtle, sweet scent. The formula is also similar, quite thin which I can remember being a bit more creamy in the past. They need  about 3-5 minutes to completely dry.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Witches

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Witches is described as a Pitch Black shade. The formula is a bit on the thin side, so it isn’t fully opaque in one swipe. It is very easy to layer this shade to make it look evenly. It’s not my favorite black liquid lipstick but it is definitely a decent formula.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Damned

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Damned is described as a Black Cherry shade. On the packaging, it seems to be more of a berry type of shade, but on my arm and lip swatches, it leans more to an oxblood/brown shade. This one applies very patchy but I could make it look decent. It still looks patchy up close but looks better from a distance.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Hawkwind

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Hawkwind is described as a Warm Nutmeg shade. This shade is absolutely beautiful and easy to work with. It applies evenly and is just a gorgeous, warm shade. I feel like it’s a mix Lolita and Lolita II (review here), but I haven’t made the comparison yet!

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Sanctuary

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Sanctuary is described as a Cool Sepia shade. I think the description of the shade is on point, it’s definitely very cool toned but I feel like it still looks really wearable. Another easy to work with shade that applies nice and even.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Ludwig is described as a Tawny Rose shade. When I saw this shade from the tube, I thought it would look too light on me but it actually looks really amazing! It’s a beautiful nude shade, applies a bit streaky but is easy to fix for an even layer.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovecraft

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovecraft is described as a Mauve Pink Nude shade. This shade originally was created for the Studded Kiss Lipsticks and was my absolute favorite shade for a very long time, to the point that I almost emptied the lipstick (which happens very rarely). I of course was over the moon to see that the brand has created a liquid lipstick form of this shade and it doesn’t disappoint. It looks so amazing, I’m obsessed with this shade. It is also an easy applicable shade.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Exorcism

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Exorcism is described as a Ripe Blackberry shade. As you can see, there is a trend of patchiness on the darker shades. This one is also unfortunately, very patchy and difficult to apply since the formula is on the thin side. I again could make it work but I wish that it would be easier to apply. This shade also looks more red on me than berry purple as seen on the packaging.

Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Madrid

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Madrid is described as a Warm Redwood shade. This is a new addition to the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick line. Like Hawkwind it seems like a mix between Lolita and Lolita II. I really like this shade as well and is one of the easy ones to apply.

Overall, I think the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Mini Lipstick Set is an awesome set with some beautiful nude and neutral shades. The lighter shades are what I expect from the brand, easy to apply. The darker shades unfortunately apply patchy. I don’t know if I shaked the tubes correctly because it small tube is difficult to mix, but it just seemed like the formula is thinner than I was used to. I haven’t been able to compare it to the lipsticks that I already own, but I am a bit disappointed in those darker shades.

Again, the lighter shades are perfect. My favorite is definitely Lovecraft. Madrid and Hawkwind are also definitely up in my alley. All shades stay put all day long and are almost completely transfer and smudge proof. They are one of the more drying formula’s compared to other brand I own but I do think they are of great quality.

The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick – Mini Lipstick Set is available for $49 USD (excluding shipping and customs tax, check xe.com for the current price in Euro) at Sephora.com, KatvondBeauty.com and starting from this month, should be available on other International platforms like Sephora.fr and in the International (Sephora) stores that offer Kat von D Beauty products.

I really want to buy this set, but after reading you saying the formula is different and the dark shades are patchy I will think twice. Thank you!
