The brand Kat von D has released the Limited Edition Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set for the holidays, featuring six existing shades and two new exclusive shades. I love the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks and have already reviewed a lot of shades. For this post, I’m going to show you swatches of all the shades in the brand new Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set.
The Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set comes in a cardboard packaging that shows the tubes with all the shades in front and swatches with the names on the back. The tubes displayed in front are not the same size as the actual mini liquid lipstick tube. The packaging also contains information about the ingredients of each individual shade.
The tubes are all transparent so the complete product is visible. The handle has a matte black with silver roses and filigree printed on top, artwork that Kat von D herself has created. Her logo is also printed on the transparent part.
The Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipsticks contain 3 mL of product. The fullsize Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks contain 6,6 mL of product, so you slightly get less than half of the fullsized product.
Compared the the fullsized product, the doe foot applicator of the mini is similar. The wand is of course a lot shorter. The doe foot feels comfortable and soft when applying the lipstick and is completely firm.
Here are the swatches of all the lipsticks in the Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set. All lipsticks perform different so I will be discussing them individually down below. What is the same for all the lipsticks is the subtle, sweet scent. The formula is also similar, creamy and need about 2-3 minutes to completely dry. I would say that they are almost transfer proof, depending how long and how much pressure is used when the lipstick is touched. The same goes for being smudgeproof, I can easily swipe softly on the swatches with my fingers without smudging the lipstick however, as soon as I put more pressure on my finger, they will transfer and smudge.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Plath
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Plath is described as a Deep Russet Red shade. I had to look up “Russet” because I never heard of that color. It’s apparently a Brown Red shade, which is a good description of this lipstick. This is one of the new exclusive shades and I’m in love. This shade is amazing for the fall/winter periode and I’m completely obsessed how rich and warm it looks. The shade was very easy to work with, applied even and stays on my lips very well.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Sangre
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Santa Sangre is described as a Poison Apple shade. I guess what they mean with that is a true bright red shade. That’s how it at least looks to me. This is an existing shade. I’m usually more into blue toned reds but I think this one also looks very lovely and would probably suit many different skintones. This is another shade that lasts and was very easy to work with without any problems with patchiness.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Mother
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Mother is described as a dusty mauve pink shade. This is another existing shade, which I already reviewed here. This very lovely and wearable pink lipstick shade. Love how girly this shade looks without being too bright. This is another easy shade to apply that lasts.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lovesick is described as a mauve nude shade. Another shade that I’ve previously reviewed, and would describe as a dusty nude, cool toned pink shade myself. A very cool-toned shade which I’m also obsessed with. I can barely wear this lipstick with my light to medium skintone but I think it suits me very well. I didn’t have any problems with application but this shade tends to break down in the inner rim a bit more quicker, so frequent checkups are definitely needed. I didn’t have any problems with patchiness when re-applying the lipstick on spots that have faded.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Backstage Bambi
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Backstage Bambi is described as a vivid hot pink shade. This is definitely a very bright, neon barbie-doll pink shade. Super bold and very fun to wear, especially during the Summer. Bright shades like this one are a bit more difficult to work with. This shade is slightly patchy but it’s not very noticeable. The shade lasts very well though! This shade is already in the permanent range.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in L.U.V.
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in L.U.V. is described as a rich violet shade. I really like this shade, it is super fun and bold. True violet/purple shades are sometimes difficult to wear if it leans to blue, but this one is very nice if you’re looking for a wearable purple shade! I really love how it looks on me. This shade already existed in the permanent range. Unfortunately, this was another shade that was a bit difficult to work with. As you can see for the arm and close-up swatches, this shade is very patchy. It isn’t noticeable up far but definitely up close. I think another layer would be okay but would probably feel more drying and present.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Roxy
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Roxy is described as a bright grape shade. See what I mean compared to L.U.V.? This violet/purple shade is much more blue toned and a lot less wearable to the average person. I don’t care though, I really like this shade too! I again find a bit more problems with the patchiness but decent good up far. This is the other new exclusive shade.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Echo
The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Echo is described as a satin navy blue shade. This is probably the boldest shade in the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick Set. I already have a few blue liquid lipstick shades in my collection and I think blue lipsticks are awesome. This one is also very beautiful but a tiny bit patchy, but not as much as the previous shades. I think this shade is also a very cool shade to wear during the Fall/Winter Period and stays on very nicely. Since the shade is so dark though, breakdown in the middle of the lips is noticeable very quickly, so definitely check up frequently when wearing this shade.
I really adore the Kat von D Everlasting Mini Liquid Lipstick Set. Unlike the theBalm Meet Matte Hughe(s) Mini Liquid Lipstick Set (review here), these shades have a variety of what is considered wearable and bold shades. You really have to have a more “daring” taste to be able to make use of all these shades. If you’re more into nude and neutral shades, you should probably skip this set. If you’re like me and like to wear all kinds of different shades, definitely consider to get this set.
The variety of all the different shades is what I personally love about the set. You get eight shades for the price of three full-sized Kat von D Liquid Lipsticks if you include shipping and taxes. The formula is not my all-time favorite, since I find it quite drying but overall, they have one of the better liquid lipsticks formulas. My favorite shades of this set are Plath, Mother and L.U.V..
Which shade is your favorite of this set?
