The Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita has been the most popular shade in the Everlasting Liquid Lipstick line. For the Holidays, the brand has released the limited edition Lolita Lip Duo, containing two miniature liquid lipsticks in the regular shade Lolita and a different version called Lolita II. I’m going to review and show you swatches of the Kat von D Lolita Lip Duo.
Like most of the products of this brand, the Kat von D Lolita Lipstick Duo comes in matte black box with beautiful shiny black rose/filigree details. Both lipsticks are displayed on the packaging and are the actual size of the lipsticks themselves.
These are miniature versions and contains 3 mL of product per lipstick. The fullsize Everlasting Liquid Lipstick contains 6,6 mL of product, so you get less than half with the miniatures. The doe foot applicator is the same as on the fullsize (the wand is only shorter ofcourse). The tubes are transparent so the product is visible through the packaging.
On the left you can see a swatch of Lolita, on the right Lolita II. Both of them are nicely pigmented and dry to a complete matte finish in about 1-2 minutes. In my opinion, these shades are completely different from one another, so I’m not quite sure what the idea was behind the new shade calling it Lolita II instead of giving it a new name.
I also have a fullsize Lolita (reviewed here) and decided to swatch that one next to the others. This one should be exactly the same as Lolita from the Lip Duo set however, it seems that it is a bit lighter compared to Lolita from the Lip Duo. I don’t know if they have changed the formula after I have purchased my fullsize Lolita, which was about 1.5 years ago.
Fullsize Kat von D Lolita vs Lolita Lip Duo
Here are the fullsize KvD Lolita (right half) and Lolita from the Lip Duo (left side) on my lips. It seems like the fullsize Lolita is slightly more matte and a lighter compared to the one from the Lip Duo, but the difference in shade on my lips is less noticeable compared to the swatch on my arm.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita is described as a Chesnut Rose lipstick. Like I already mentioned in my previous Lolita review, it is one of my favorite lipstick shades of all time. I do think that this one is slightly darker than the one that I already owned, and I like this one even more. I hope when I ever run out of my fullsize one that the formula of Lolita will be as this one.
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II
Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita II is described as a Terra Cotta Nude lipstick. I think the description matches the lipstick perfectly. To me, the lipstick shade looks like a lighter version of terra cotta clay. I don’t own anything like this, so to me it is a very unique shade. I wouldn’t normally gravitate to something like this but it does look very flattering on my skintone.
Because of the matte liquid lipstick formula, the lipsticks do not transfer nor bleed and if you don’t eat any greasy food, it will stay put all day without needing to re-apply. Because of completely matte finish of these lipsticks, they are drying but are still comfortable if you’re used to wearing liquid lipsticks. They also emphasize any imperfections sowould suggest to scrub your lips and apply some lipbalm before doing application.
Unfortunately, the Kat von D Lolita Lip Duo has sold out. However, I have purchased an extra set for my one year anniversary giveaway, which is set between April and May so you still have to wait some time for that. The fullsize Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita is available for $20 USD (excluding taxes and customs fees. Check Xe.com for the current price in Euro) at Sephora.com. This shade is sold out often but is also from time to time. It is currently available so get this shade while it lasts! Lolita II is not available yet, but will be released soon according to the Sephora website. I would suggest so keep an eye out on the Kat von D Beauty Instagram page for an update on the release date.
