Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection Review

Clinique has collaborated with the Finnish design house Marimekko to create the Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection, featuring the Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration and the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer lip products, decorated in a limited edition packaging by Marimekko. I’ve received one shade from each lip product, which I’m going to review in today’s post.

The Finnish design house Marimekko is known for their use of vibrant colored printed fabrics and simple styles in both home furnishing and womens clothing. Each product of the Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection has a different design, making them all look really unique and fun to look at. Each print featured in the collection were created by Annika Rimala, Marimekko‘s most prominent designer in the 1960s and 1970s and one of the most influential fashion designers of her time.

The Clinique Pop Splash Lip Glosses are colorful, shiny glosses that are also hydrating and weightless with no sticky feeling. This gloss is formulated with ingredients to help smooth and condition lips, providing immediate and long-lasting moisturization for all-day comfort.

The Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration glosses (€21.50 Euro/4.3 mL each) are available in 20 new shades, each having their own unique Marimekko design on the top part of the gloss tube while the bottom is transparent. Opening the gloss reveals a regular doe foot applicator. I’ve received the shade Tenderheart.

The Clinique Pop Lipsticks are saturated colour lipsticks that contains a smoothing primer for an easy application resulting in a fully opaque colored lip with a velvety-smooth finish, feeling comfortably moisturized for up to 8 hours.

The Marimekko for Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks (€21.50 Euro each) are available in 10 existing shades, each having their own unique Marimekko design on the entire exterior of the lipstick tube. I’ve received the shade Cola Pop.

Both products of the Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection are unscented and have a beautiful color payoff, with the gloss being semi-opaque while the lipstick is fully opaque.

Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration in Tenderheart

The Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Gloss + Hydration in Tenderheart is a nude gloss with a high shine finish. This gloss looks absolutely amazing! It makes my lips look super plump and feels nice and hydrating without feeling sticky. I do think that wearing a lip liner or lipstick might benefit with darker shades than this one, since glosses tend to fade quickly but for this shade, it doesn’t matter as much to me since it is close to my own lip color.

Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Colour + Primer in Cola Pop

The Marimekko for Clinique Pop Splash Lip Colour + Primer in Cola Pop is a brown toned red with a creme finish. The lipstick was easy to apply and feels very creamy and hydrating. It does dry down a bit after some time but it doesn’t make my lips feel dry. It does last for some time but since it has a creme type of formula, it smudges and transfers everywhere so frequent checks and retouching are a must.

I really like the products of the Marimekko for Clinique Limited Edition Collection because I’m always a fan of unique and fun packaging. The products are of high quality and available in many different shades. I think I would prefer the glosses, because these are available in new shades.
