NARSissist Wanted Power Pack Lip Kit – Hot Reds Review

NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kit

NARS is launching the NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kits, containing two miniature versions of the Powermatte Lip Pigments. These kits will be available in three different shade sets, Cool Nudes, Warm Nudes and Hot Reds with one existing shade and an all new, Limited Edition shade. I’ve received the NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kit in Hot Reds, which I’m going to swatch and review for you today.

The NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kit in Hot Reds consists of the shades Don’t Stop (permanent) and Cherry Bomb (limited edition). You will probably get some kind of packaging with these lipsticks but unfortunately, there wasn’t any included in my PR package. I don’t know if I would prefer two completely different shades or similar ones like these in a set. I think it’s good because if you like one shade, you would also like the other so I think it’s worth it as long as they look different enough.

These mini’s look the same as the fullsize version (review here), only in a shorter tube. The matte tube has the typical modern, black colored NARS packaging. The top part spells out the brands name and feels velvet-y. The bottom part has a transparant window which shows you the product.

Here you can see a comparison of the fullsize NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment and the mini of the NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kit. The only differences that I can see is that the tube and the wand are shorter. The applicator and the width of the tube are the same. The mini contains 2.8 mL of product and comparing to 5.5 mL of the fullsize, you get slightly more than half of the fullsize inside the mini’s!

The formula of the NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments are very thin, oily and runny. NARS actually describes it as putting an ink on the lips. I’m not sure that is only a positive thing because you can see that the product bleeds on the texture of my skin. Therefore, I would definitely suggest to use a lip liner if you have a tendency of lipsticks to bleed outside the borders of your lips. Don’t Stop is slightly more pigmented compared to Cherry Bomb, which is not fully opaque but can be fixed with a second coat. These also smell absolutely delicious like Vanilla Bean. Due to the runny formula, it takes a bit more time compared to other liquid lipsticks to dry, I would say around 4-5 minutes.

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Don’t Stop

The NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Don’t Stop is described as a Geranium Red shade. I’ve already reviewed this shade (when my lips weren’t so dry due to the weather, review here) and my opinion hasn’t changed. I have a lot of matte red shades, but I think this one is my favorite of all of them. I’ve never seen a more perfect red shade than this one. It was also very easy to apply and was opaque after one applying one thin coat.

NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Cherry Bomb

The NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment in Cherry Bomb is described as a Candy Apple Red shade. This is a beautiful pink-ish red, I think it looks so vibrant and fun! It looks a bit patchy up close but I didn’t see much of it at a normal distance. Another coat would’ve definitely evened it out a bit more.

Even though these look very similar inside their tubes, the two shades of the NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kit in Hot Reds are to me, absolutely different shades and worth getting if you love red lipsticks.

The formula of the NARS Powermatte Lip Pigments is one of my favorite formula’s for liquid lipsticks that I’ve tried so far, it’s probably in the top five. I like that the formula is thin and it does feel very lightweight but most importantly, not drying at all. The oily-ness even feels moisturizing during application and the scent is amazing. I also love that it doesn’t have an extremely matte finish so it doesn’t look like my lips are dried out. The formula isn’t transfer proof or completely smudge-proof but definitely smudge resistant. The lipstick lasts for about 6-8 hours on me, with touch-ups after eating.

The NARSissist WANTED Power Pack Lip Kit in Hot Reds, as well as the other two kits will be available starting from the 1st of April 2018 for €26,00 Euro at DeBijenkorf.nl and at the NARS counters at De Bijenkorf AmsterdamUtrecht and Rotterdam.

A fullsize NARS Powermatte Lip Pigment is also €26,00 Euro so you’re basically getting two shades for the price of one!
