NYX Professional Makeup has expanded their Away We Glow Collection with some brand new products, including the Away We Glow Shadow Palettes. These palettes are available in two different color combinations, featuring 10 shades that are perfect for the Summer season. For today’s post, I’m going to swatch, review and show you some make-up looks using the new NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palettes.
The NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palettes are made of plastic and have a transparent top, so you can immediately see all the shades. Both of the palettes have the same exterior design. The back of the palettes shows the eyeshadows ingredients and other details. Both palettes look nice but feel lightweight and cheap however, the brand is of course known tor being more affordable so I don’t mind.
The NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette in Lovebeam contains ten shades that are more on the neutral/cool toned side. I don’t see is how this is considered as “Summery” palette though. I’m not a huge fan of shades like these but they do look like they would compliment each other very well.
The matte shades inside the NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette in Lovebeam feel suuuper soft and and have a nice pigment, but look a bit “muted” because of the shades. The shimmery shades have a slight texture to the touch but feel nice and buttery however, these also do not have an intense reflection that I was hoping for. All shades perform just fine but they don’t impress me, I find them to be a bit boring.
For this look, I used the shades 2 (all over as a base and as a browbone highlight), 5 (transition shade), 8 (crease, bottom lid and inner and outer 3rd of the upper lid), 9 (middle of the lid) and 1 (inner corner highlight).
All the shades of the NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette in Lovebeam blended easily and worked well together with no fallout. Again, I’m not too thrilled on how this looks on me and I miss the intensity. You can build up the intensity of the shimmery shades by wetting your brush or finger. I do love how Shade 1 looks but that’s basically it for me. It is a good palette if you love these kinds of shades though!
The NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette in Hooked on Glow contains ten shades that are more on the warm toned side. I know this might look boring for others because it has already been done so many times but I really like these shades. I think that these look great and are well balanced.
The shades of the NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette in Hooked on Glow feel the same as the other palette however, the intensity of the shades look so more amped up! Again, I think it’s because of the shade range of the other palette that makes them look more muted. I much, much, much prefer these kind of reflective shimmers and warm mattes!
For this look, I used the shades 1 (all over as a base and as a browbone highlight), 7 (transition shade), 5 (crease and inner and outer 3rd of the lids lid), 10 (outer corners of the lids and to slightly deepen the crease), 2 (middle of the lid) and 6 (inner corner highlight).
Now this looks more like it! The shades all again blend easily and work well with each other. I really like the NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palette in Hooked on Glow however, I do think that some of the shimmery shades are a bit too similar and also can use a bit more intensity like shade 9 but again, it can be fixed by wetting your tools prior to application.
I would definitely recommend to check out thist palette if you love warm brown shades. The powders feel like they’re pressed firmly in the pan and since the palette is lightweight, it is great for traveling.
The NYX Professional Makeup Away We Glow Shadow Palettes are available for €22,15 Euro (10x 1.0 gr) each at the NYX Professional Makeup Stores in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, Douglas.nl and selected Douglas stores.
