The cold Winter Season is always a struggle for my skin and lips. Constant hydration is especially a must for my lips to prevent them being too chapped. The tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipsticks are full coverage hydrating lipsticks, combining intense pigments with a creamy vegan formula, making them perfect longwear lip-quenchers. These are available in 24 different shades. I’ve received the tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick shades 5 O’Clock, Salt Lyfe and Cruisin’, which I’m going to review for you today.
The tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipsticks come in a beautiful blue gradient, matte metallic box with gold details. The names of the shades with the corresponding background of the color are on top of the packaging. I really like the packaging, it looks very unique and detailed, reminding me of the ocean.
tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick tubes are as unique as the box it comes in. The tubes are blue with a marbled effect, which looks like moving water and also has gold details. The tubes contains 3.4 grams of product each. The lipstick bullet has a slight curve in the middle of the tip for easy application.
All the tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick shades swatch perfectly even, gliding on my skin with ease. All shades have a creme finish and are buttery but not too soft so bleeding won’t be a problem. The lipsticks are unscented and formulated with the Rainforest of the Sea™ complex, which is a blend of Algae and Marine Flower Extracts that helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while smoothing and softening skin. The lipsticks also include soothing and moisturizing ingredients Shea Butter and Olive Oil.
tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in 5 O’Clock
The tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in 5 O’Clock is described as a Dark Mauve. On me, the warm brown tones really come forward, which reminds me more of being a coffee type of shade. Either way, I think it’s a beautiful shade.
tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Salt Lyfe
The tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Salt Lyfe is described as a Mauve Grey. I thought this shade would look dead on me, but it actually looks really cool! It’s not something that I would normally wear but I think this shade would look absolutely amazing combined with a cool toned or neutral make-up look.
tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Cruisin’
The tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick in Cruisin’ is described as a Cool Mauve. I swear that tarte has other colors available, the brand apparently loves their Mauves! I don’t know, I would describe this shade more as a muted raspberry shade. Either way, this is my favorite shade of the bunch and this shade would probably look great on all skin tones.
These three tarte Rainforest of the Sea Color Splash Lipstick shades are all absolutely perfect when it comes to their formula. These feel as hydrating as wearing a lipbalm while having an amazing opaque color payoff. They all apply easily and even on the lips, they feel slippery and hydrating. Since these are so opaque, the color does last long on the lips, even when the lipstick is feeling thinner over time. They are of course regular lipsticks so re-applying after eating and drinking is normal. You can get a longer wear time by applying a lip liner as a base.
