Urban Decay has finally added highlighters to their permanent range called the Afterglow 8-Hour Powder Highlighters. Can you believe that the brand did not have individual highlighters in their permanent range before!? These highlighters come in three shades and I purchased one of them, which is the Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin.
The Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin comes in a shiny and reflecting cardboard box that has a gradient from silver to pink. The compact itself is silver and has mesh details on the Urban Decay logo on top of the compact.
The compact has a magnetic closure and omes with 6.8 grams of product. When opened, it reveals the Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin. The mesh detailing is also visible on top of the compact and has no mirror. I do like how the packaging looks however, I’m not sure if this is travel friendly. For me, it isn’t a problem that there is no mirror and the compact is small. However, the mesh detailing kind of worries me. What happens when you drop the powder and it’s broken? I think it would get all in the top part of the lid and will get very messy and difficult to get everything completely out and clean the compact. So in summary, do not drop this compact! Which would be my advice for all powder make-up stuff, or all make-up in general. 😉
The Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin is very finely milled, soft and extremely pigmented. One swipe is enough for a very strong highlighting effect. I would say that there is some sparkle but overall, the finish is very frosty. The shade has a light champagne color, lighter than BECCA Champagne Pop and TheBalm Mary Lou-Manizer. I would say that this would be a great highlight for fair to medium skin tones.
Here are before (left) and after (right) pictures using the Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin. This highlighter is very strong but still can look very natural if you sheer it out. I’ve put a lot of highlighter on my cheekbones, tip and bridge of my nose and cupids bow for this review to really show you the difference on picture. As you can see on the left, I already have a subtle highlight using my regular make-up products. Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin only emphasizes the highlighting effect even more without changing the shade, so it looks very natural.
I’m a huge strong highlighter fan and Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin has quickly become one of my favorite highlighters. It is very versatile since you can use it more in a natural way or more extreme like I did for this review. If you’re looking for a good highlight to show up in pictures, this one also is more easy to photograph. The shade is perfect on me, but I think shade will look grey on a deeper skin tone.
The Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Sin is available for € 30,00 Euro at selected Ici Paris XL stores and IciParisXL.nl. This shade is in the permanent range however, it is a new and popular product so it is often sold out. So definitely put your name on a waiting list in selected Ici Paris XL Stores or subscribe to an email notification on IciParisXL.nl.

Dankjewel Kayleigh!
