YSL Touche Éclat Concealer Range Review

YSL Touche Éclat Concealer Range Review

The original YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch is a very popular product of the brand, described to instantly give 8 hours of beauty sleep in a click. However, there is a new kid in town! The Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer is specifically created for the under-eye area, with a formula that reflects light away from the eyes to diffuse while correcting dark shadows. I’m going to review and compare the two different YSL Touche Éclat Concealers in today’s post.

YSL Touche Éclat Concealer Radiant Touch Review

The original YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch is available in 14 shades and is described as a highlighter with a sheer to medium, buildable coverage that instantly brightens, smooths and perfects the complexion with a natural, luminous finish without any shimmer or glitter. The product has light-infused pigments that blend seamlessly for a healthy and natural glow that never looks cakey or overdone. The formula is infused with Hyaluronic Acid to increase hydration and plump skin, and Vitamin E to fight visible signs of fatigue. The product is contained in a clickable pen with a brush tip.

It’s interesting to see that the product is described as a highlighter while also being used and categorized as a concealer. I guess since it brightens and brings light to the applied area while not containing any shimmer or glitter, it can be categorized in both.

The YSL Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer is available in 16 shades and is described as a product specifically created for the under eyes, helping to correct under-eye darkness, removing signs of fatigue and making the eyes look awake and bright. This product has a higher coverage than the original Touche Éclat and still has a buildable formula that does not look heavy or cakey. Like the original, the product is infused with Hyaluronic Acid and Vitamin E, but contains also Ruscus and Caffeine to combat under-eye puffiness and swelling, and Calendula to sooth, protect and care for the delicate eye area.

Here are swatches of YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch and the Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer in the shade 2.5. As you can see, the shades are completely different from each other. I think the Touche Éclat Radiant Touch is too light for my skin tone, looking slightly grey-ish however, I can see that this product is meant for brightening the skin. The Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer is just perfect for my skin tone and has a more peachy undertone, which is great for correcting dark areas.

The here is a before (left) and after (right) using the YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch in 2.5 on the under-eye area and a picture with all make-up applied. The product is definitely brightening, but doesn’t cover the dark circles under my eyes because it has a sheer to medium coverage. It does look a bit better when all make-up is applied and does look natural, but isn’t the coverage I would look for in an under-eye concealer. It would definitely look beautiful as a concealer to naturally highlight different points of the face.

The here is a before (left) and after (right) using the YSL Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer in 2.5 on the under-eye area and a picture with all make-up applied. I can still see a little bit of darkness peeking out but I still think that it looks nicely correcting and natural and skin-like.

Both products have a creamy consistency and apply very thin and natural. Both product do need some setting but have minimal creasing on the fine lines after. I have problems with very dry skin on the under eye area and both of these concealer do not look dry on me.

The Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer is definitely a great concealer for the under-eye area. I’m not a huge fan of the Touche Éclat Radiant Touch on it’s own, but it can be used to naturally brighten areas of the skin. The product can also be perfectly combined to brighten the inner corner of the under eye on top of the other concealer.

I’m a huge fan of the new concealer of the line and I would definitely recommend to check out the Touche Éclat High Cover Radiant Concealer if you have a problem with concealers looking too dry and matte, and if you have problems with creasing of fine lines underneath your eyes.

The YSL Touche Éclat Concealers are available for an average retail price of 40,00 Euro/2,5 mL each at several (online) stores and warehouses such as Douglas and De Bijenkorf.
