Love OPI, XOXO Collection – Holiday 2017

Love OPI, XOXO Collection - Holiday 2017

Fall in love with the new Limited Edition OPI Holiday 2017 collection called Love OPI, XOXO. The collection consists of twelve shades with a diversity of colors and finishes like frosty nudes, deep reds to bold metallics. I’ve received the entire collection, which I’m going to show you in this post.

I think that the Love OPI, XOXO collection can be divided in three different themes, light, red, and dark shades. For the first time since brand has launched in 1989 (fun fact: same year as I was born!), OPI has changed their bottle to a more streamlined look. I didn’t notice it at first but looking at the bottle closely, you can definitely see that it is more sleek looking. As per usual, each bottle contains 15 mL of product.

OPI Snow Glad I Met You

OPI Snow Glad I Met You is White with a Frosty Pearl finish. This shade is very sheer, and I actually like it that way. I personally prefer only doing one coat because it makes my nails look like it has a layer of crushed pearls on it. You can see different shimmer effects like pink and blue when a thin layer is applied. It is opaque in three coats like I did in the picture above, but it loses the effect when fully opaque. The shade has a nice, thin consistency and was easy to work with. You can see the brush swipes when applying more coats but I don’t mind that.

OPI Gift of Gold Never Gets Old

OPI Gift of Gold Never Gets Old is a Pale Gold shade with a Frosty Metallic finish. I think it’s a unique and unusual shade of gold. Normally, you would see something more yellow and rich gold or more to the champagne side. This one seems a bit “dirty” looking, which is kind of cool. I don’t think it suits my skintone well though. This shade also has a nice, thin consistency and is opaque in two coats. It applies evenly but as you can see, the brush strokes are very obvious looking in this shade.

OPI Ornament to Be Together

OPI Ornament to Be Together is a Silver shade with a Metallic Shimmer finish. It’s a beautiful sparkly shade without being a glitter, so it’s easy to remove as well. In the bottle, I can see holographic microshimmers but unfortunately, I don’t see that effect on the nails. Another thin consistency that is fully opaque in two coats.

OPI The Color That Keeps On Giving

OPI The Colors That Keeps On Giving is a Dusty, Pale Pink shade with a Frosty Pearl finish. This shade has the same effect and consistency as the shade Snow Glad I Met You. Again, I prefer this as a one coater because instead of looking like having crushed pearls on my nails, it looks like a crushed, pink crystal. I thought I was going to hate both shades but this way, I really love wearing them. For the pictures, I used three coats for full opacity, unfortunately losing the effect.

OPI My Wish List is You

OPI My Wish List is You is a Bright Red shade with a Creme finish. It a perfect neutral red, extremely vibrant and just screaming the Holiday Season to me. It has a very nice and thin consistency, applies evenly and needs two coats for full opacity.

OPI Adam Said “It’s New Year’s Eve”

OPI Adam Said “It’s New Year’s, Eve is a Red with a Blue undertone with a Creme finish. I love reds like this one. I think it is a classic and seductive shade which would be perfectly matched with a blue based red lip. Love how consistent the formulas are in this collection. So far, every shade is thin and easy to work with and spoiler alert, every color continuing from this point will have the same, easy to work with formula, so I’m not going to mention it again in the individual sections. This shade is opaque in two coats.

OPI Sending You Holiday Hugs

OPI Sending You Holiday Hugs is a Berry Red shade with a Metallic finish. Another shade that I would consider as a classic for the Holiday Season. The shade looks so rich and looks amazingly beautiful when the light hits it, revealing a deep looking shimmer effect. You can get away with only one coat if you have short nails with no whites. I needed two coats for full opacity.

OPI Feel the Chemis-tree

OPI Feel the Chemis-tree is a Purple shade with a Shifting Metallic finish. This shade is a real shapeshifter. When there’s enough light, it looks purple and has a red, almost looking like fire with yellow and orange shifts to it. At night, it looks more like a brown toned red. It’s a kind of color that you keep staring at and I absolutely love it! I used two coats for full opacity.

OPI Wanna Wrap?

OPI Wanna Wrap? is a Dark Purple shade with a Creme finish. This shade looks almost black but you can definitely see the difference on the edges of my nails. It’s a beautiful bold and vampy shade for the Winter period. Two coats for full opacity.

OPI Holidazed Over You

OPI Holidazed Over You is a Dark Navy Blue shade with a Creme finish. Even though this is also an almost black looking shade, you can definitely see a huge difference between this shade and the previous one. What is the same have the effect as being an awesome vampy shade for the Winter period. I needed two coats for full opacity.

OPI Top the Package with a Beau

OPI Top the Package with a Beau is a Charcoal shade that has a Jelly/Creme type of base containing flecks of Gold Shimmers. I can’t really tell if this is a Creme or Jelly, the first coat is quite transparent but it turns in opaque in two coats. It is a very unique polish, the flecks inside the polish have different shapes and sizes, definitely another shade that I can’t stop staring at.

OPI Coalmates

OPI Coalmates is a Grey-ish Blue shade with a Metallic Shimmer finish. This shade is also leaning to being a glitter, without being one. The shimmers look so pretty while also being a metallic. Another very unique and bold shade that needs two coats for full opacity.

I have to be honest with you, when I first saw the shades in the bottle I thought “Meh, these look very similar and boring”. I was so wrong and in fact, I’m completely blown away by the Love OPI, XOXO collection.

Most of the shades of the collection are very unique and coming from someone who has owned over 500 nail polishes, this is a bold statement. I absolutely love the variety of shades and finishes, while still being great for the Holiday/Winter Season. It is also great that all the shades have a consistant, easy to work with formula. I have been wearing these shades non-stop since I’ve received them and every time, it’s difficult which one to pick since there are so many of them that have awesome looking effects.

If I had to pick three favorites, it would be Top the Package with a BeauFeel the Chemis-tree and Coalmates.

Whoaaa wat een mooie kleutjes! Jij bent altijd super goed met je nagellak, als ik ze aanbreng moet ik eerst een paar dagen wachten totdat alle restjes eraf zijn (ik ben zo slecht in het aanbrengen).
