Father’s Day Tip: Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance Collection

The British designer label Ted Baker has recently launched the Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance Collection, which consists of tonics for men that combines a fascination of the alchemy of aroma with the world’s most sought after elements; Copper (Cu), Silver (Ag) and Gold (Au). For this post, I’m going to review the Ted Baker Tonics Fragrances in Copper (Cu) and Silver (Ag).

The packaging of the Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance Collection is an absolute dream for someone as nerdy and who loves science as myself. The box where the tonics come in, as well as the bottle’s textured jacket show an image of the periodic table where the symbol of the element the tonic is named after is highlighted. The highlight and other details on the boxes and bottles also have the same color as the element it is named after. These little details makes the products look absolutely luxurious and expensive.

The Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance in Copper (Cu) is described as follows:

“Copper. Made for the discerning gent who is hot on the heels of the latest trends, this rare fragrance flares bright and intense. With a refined blend of grapefruit, fresh aquatic, warm pepper and cedarwood, this enigmatic scent embodies those who dare to be different.”

Top notes: grapefruit, bergamot, leafy
Heart notes: aquatic, pepper, jasmine
Base notes: cedarwood, patchouli, musk

The last part of the description of this fragrance is “enigmatic scent embodies those who dare to be different.”, but I have to say that I think it is quite the opposite. To me, it is a very familiar and classic scent that a lot of men’s fragrances smell like. The grapefruit and leafy-ness are definitely noticeable in the beginning, making it fresh and sweet. After the top notes evaporate, I can especially notice the pepper and aquatic heart notes but I’m personally not a huge fan of fresh scents. So I would describe this scent as generic but it is quite a popular type of scent so I’m sure may people who love fresh scents will like it.

The Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance in Silver (Ag) is described as follows:

“Silver. Formulated for the traditional gentleman who appreciates the finer details in life, this classic fragrance is timeless and understated. With notes of fresh violet leaf, cool eucalyptus an smoky leather, this impeccably polished scent is the very last word in masculinity.”

Top notes: bergamot, violet leaf, pepper
Heart notes: eucalyptus, patchouli, leather
Base notes: cedarwood, amber, musk

I don’t know what it is about this fragrance but I’m absolutely obsessed. It is definitely masculine but I would personally be able to wear this scent myself! To me, this fragrance is sweet and warm. I notice the bergamot and pepper during the initial application. I looooove the smell of leather in perfumes, also the warm and earthy-ness smell of cedarwood and amber. Sweet/warm fragrance lovers like me will absolutely love this scent!

I think that the Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance Collection is a beautiful collection of fragrances. These might not be extremely unique when it comes to their scents, but the popularity of these kinds of fragrances, in combination with the luxurious looking packaging makes these products an amazing (Father’s Day!) gift.

These products look expensive due to the volume and bold packaging, but these fragrances are actually available for €49,99/100 mL each, which I think is an amazing deal for what you get!

The Ted Baker Tonics Fragrance Collection is available at Douglas.nl and selected Douglas stores.
