The Lancôme La vie est belle en rose L’eau de Toilette is the newest addition to the La vie est belle family. This feminine fragrance by Anne Flipo and Dominique Ropion is created as the embodiment of optimism, having the freshness of addictive Peony and brightened with sparkling Iris. I’m going to review this new fragrance in today’s post.
The bottle of the fragrance has the same shape as the original. Instead of having a grey bow, the bottle is adored with a pink bow and a transparant, pink corner, giving an ode to optimism by seeing life through rose-colored glasses.
The notes of the Lancôme La vie est belle en rose L’eau de Toilette is described as follows:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Pink Pepper, Red Berries
Middle Notes: Peony, Damask Rose, Centifolia Rose, Lily of the Valley
Base Notes: Iris, Patchouli, Sandalwood, Musk
When I first apply this fragrance, I notice the scent being nicely fresh, zesty but juicy and the same time, so the Bergamot and Red Berries notes are nicely present. I don’t notice the Pink Pepper note as much. Then, it changes in to a very floral Rose scent. It does not smell heavy but is still nicely fresh. It’s difficult for me to distinguish floral scents but I do notice other florals outside Rose, especially after some time. I don’t really smell the Sandalwood or Musk, but I do notice the scent becoming slightly warmer over time. The fragrance does stay on my skin for about half a day. I think this fragrance is perfect for daytime and a nice scent for Spring/Summer.
Compared to the original La vie est belle fragrance, the La vie est belle en rose version is much more floral. The original is sweet and warm while this version is rosy, floral and fruity. Liking the original scent doesn’t mean you would automatically like this one. I personally prefer the original scent, because I’m not a huge fan of florals. I think you would like this perfume if you are into fresh, fruity/rose scents.
The Lancôme La vie est belle en rose L’eau de Toilette is available in several volumes starting from 50 mL at a variety of perfume (online) stores and warehouses such as Douglas.nl and De Bijenkorf.
