Hi all! As some of you might have seen on Instagram, I’ve won a Smashbox Make-up prize via Beautyscene.nl. I have been familiar with some of the Smashbox Primers, but I never tried the rest of their products. I was very excited when I was chosen as a winner and will be showing you all the products that I’ve received and created a look using the Smashbox Products.
As you can see, the prize was huge!! I’m not going to review the products in this post, but I might do some in the future. Let me know if you’re interested in a more detailed review for one of the products. I only had to add Foundation, Concealer, Dipbrow Pomade, Blush and Bronzer outside of the Smashbox products. I’ve received the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Fireball Matte, Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio in Cover Shoot, 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer, L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color in Hollywood & Highlight, Full Exposure Mascara in Jet Black, Photo Finish Foundation Primer and the Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Cabana.
Here is the complete look using all the Smashbox Products. I really had fun trying out these products. I had to experiment and get out of my comfort zone using the Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Fireball and the Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Cabana, because these are both in shades that I wouldn’t normally use, let alone combine in one look.
I really love how the Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Cabana gives that pop of color in this eyelook. The Smashbox l Exposure Mascara in Jet Black is a nicely lengthening but the wand is a bit too big to do the bottom one, or I’m just not used to it anymore because I normally use the MAC Extended Play Mascara, which has a very thin wand.
The Smashbox 24 Hour Photo Finish Shadow Primer is amazing, I really love the creamy consistency and it prevents the eyeshadow from creasing. I think the shades in the Smashbox Photo Op Eye Shadow Trio in Cover Shoot work very well together. I really like that there’s a lighter, shimmery shade in the palette together with the brown matte shades.
I used the the Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer as my base and it really felt good, it feels silicone-y ofcourse (which I don’t mind) and doesn’t feel greasy at all, don’t know yet if my make-up will stay on better with this so I need to test it out a little bit more. The Smashbox L.A. Lights Blendable Lip & Cheek Color in Hollywood & Highlight is very subtle and looks more natural compared to what I normally use, but I think this would be great for those natural, no make-up – make-up days.
The Smashbox Be Legendary Lipstick in Fireball is an extremely bold, orange-toned red lipstick. I’m personally not so fond of shades like these, since they make my teeth even look more yellow. I do think the texture of the lipstick feels amazing so I’m definitely interested to look at other shades.
I’m so happy with all of my Smashbox Products! Of course some of them more than the other, but I do think the quality of everything is good. I’m very thankful to Debbie for picking me as a winner. I don’t think that I would use some of the products at the same time, since this look is a little bit extreme for me, but I would definitely keep using these products.
Smashbox is available at Douglas.nl or at selected Douglas stores. You should also check out Beautyscene.nl, Debbie always has great reviews of high-end products and also gives them away occasionally so who knows, maybe you can be the next winner!
