Pixi Vitamin-C Collection Review

Pixi Vitamin-C Collection Review

The Pixi Vitamin-C Collection consists of five power packed Skintreats that can be used in a daily, step-by-step skincare routine to brighten, soften and balance the skin for a more radiant and luminous complexion. For this post, I’m going to show you the five steps in order and review the products of the Vitamin-C Collection.

Step 1 – Brighten & Cleanse with the refreshing Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser

Pixi Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser Review

The Pixi Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser (€23,50 Euro/150 mL) is described as a brightening cleansing water containing Orange Flower Water and stable Vitamin C with a potent, antioxidant effect. The cleanser is also infused with Ferulic Acid and Probiotics to help preserve and protect the skin.

The full ingredients list is as follows:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Water, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Propanediol, Ascorbic Acid, Ferulic Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Tocopheryl Acetate, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Lactic Acid, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Allantoin, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Callus Culture Extract, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Sodium Citrate, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Ethylhexylglycerin, Betaine, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Disodium EDTA.

The Vitamin-C Juice Cleanser can be used by saturating a cotton pad, gently swiping the pad onto the skin. The cleanser does not need to be rinsed off.  The description also says that you can use it with your hands, but looking at the applicator, I don’t see how you could do that. The product is recommended to be used daily.

This product has a subtle, citrus-y scent. I would use another cleanser to remove make-up but this is a great step afterwards or when wearing no make-up. Every time I use this cleanser with a cotton pad, I see dirt coming off my skin, even without wearing make-up. Using the product makes my skin feel refreshed and slightly tacky.

Step 2 – Tone & Energize with the balancing Vitamin-C Tonic

Pixi Vitamin-C Tonic Review

The Pixi Vitamin-C Tonic (€12,00 Euro/100 mL) is described as a brightening toner containing Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid that helps to promote healthy collagen production and boosts the skins luminosity. The toner is also infused with Willow Bark and Fruit Extracts to exfoliate and Probiotics to help preserve and protect the skin.

The full ingredients list is as follows:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Water, Propanediol, Glycerin, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Ascorbic Acid, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Fruit Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Beta-Carotene, Ferulic Acid, Tocopherol, Calophyllum Inophyllum Seed Oil, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Extract, Microcitrus Australis Fruit Extract, Microcitrus Australasica Fruit Extract, Citrus Glauca Fruit Extract, Caffeine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Citrus Junos Peel Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Phospholipids, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Hydroxide.

The Vitamin-C Tonic can be used by saturating a cotton pad, gently swiping the pad onto cleansed skin to exfoliate. The toner is recommended to be used daily after cleansing.

This product has an invigorating, citrus-y scent. This does not contain any alcohol but did irritate my skin slightly. I’ve had this problem before using products containing Vitamin C. My skin needed to “get used to” using this product daily but after about three days, I didn’t have problems with any irritations. It feels refreshing, hydrating and leaves a tacky layer.

Step 3 – Treat & Protect with the illuminating Vitamin-C Serum

Pixi Vitamin-C Serum Review

The Pixi Vitamin-C Serum (€12,00 Euro/30 mL) is described as a brightening serum containing Vitamin C, Probiotics and Ferulic Acid which help to provide a boost of immediate and long term radiance. The serum also helps to reduce the effects of sun damage, free radicals and help to improve the skin tone, revealing a smoother complexion.

The full ingredients list is as follows:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Ascorbic Acid, Ethoxydiglycol, Propanediol, Glycerin, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Water, Sodium Hydroxide, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Extract, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin) Orange Fruit Extract, Ferulic Acid, Tocopherol, Caffeine, Microcitrus Australis Fruit Extract, Microcitrus Australasica Fruit Extract, Beta-Carotene, Lecithin, Citrus Glauca Fruit Extract, Panthenol, Daucus Carota Sativa (Carrot) Root Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Extract, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Citrus Junos Peel Extract, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Extract, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Flower/Leaf/Stem Extract, Retinol, Xanthan Gum, Leuconostoc/Radish Root Ferment Filtrate, Punica Granatum Extract, Phenoxyethanol, Hydroxypropyl Cyclodextrin, Polysorbate 20, Phospholipids, Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Acrylates Copolymer, Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sorbate, Citric Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin.

The Vitamin-C Serum can be applying 2-3 drops all over the face, neck and decolletage. The serum is recommended to be used daily after cleansing and toning.

This product has a subtle, citrus-y scent. The serum feels nicely nourishing to the skin and leaves a tacky, almost sticky feeling layer on the skin.

Step 4 – Moisturize & Energize with the hydrating Vitamin-C Lotion

Pixi Vitamin-C Lotion Review

The Pixi Vitamin-C Lotion (€31,00 Euro/50 mL) is described as a brightening moisturizer containing Vitamin C, Probiotics and Ferulic Acid that helps to promote healthy collagen production and boosts the skins luminosity.

The full ingredients list is as follows:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Water, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ferulic Acid, Lactic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Callus Culture Extract, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Glycerin, Propanediol, Glyceryl Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Sorbitan Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Palmitic Acid, Stearic Acid, Betaine, Phenoxyethanol, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Carbomer, Arginine, Sodium Hyaluronate, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium EDTA, 1,2-Hexanediol, Pentylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol.

The Vitamin-C Lotion can be used by applying a pea-sized amount over the face. The moisturizer is recommended to be used daily as needed.

This product has a subtle, citrus-y scent but also a weird other scent, which for some reason reminds me of sausages. It isn’t a very pleasant scent but it is very subtle. A little goes a long way with this lotion, it’s lightweight and spreads around very easily so a pea-sized amount is definitely enough. This moisturizer makes my skin feel nicely hydrated and nourished, leaving it feeling soft and smooth.

Step 5 – Boost & Nourish with the indulgent Vitamin-C Caviar Balm

Pixi Vitamin-C Caviar Balm Review

The Pixi Vitamin-C Caviar Balm (€31,00 Euro/45 mL) is described as an encapsulating vitamin mask containing Vitamin C, Probiotics and Ferulic Acid that helps to promote healthy collagen production and boosts the skins luminosity.

The full ingredients list is as follows:
Aqua/Water/Eau, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Water, Glycerin, Propanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Cetearyl Alcohol, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Glyceryl Stearate, Hydrogenated Polydecene, Betaine, Sorbitan Stearate, Ferulic Acid, Ascorbic Acid, Lactic Acid, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Callus Culture Extract, Bifida Ferment Lysate, Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Litsea Cubeba Fruit Oil, Tocopheryl Acetate, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Panthenol, Phenoxyethanol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Arginine, Mannitol, Cellulose, Allantoin, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, Iron Oxides (CI 77492).

The Vitamin-C Caviar Balm can be used by massaging a small amount onto the face, allowing encapsulated vitamins to melt into the skin. This is a leave-on mask so it doesn’t need to be rinsed off. There is no recommendation of use but I assume it can be used daily if needed.

This product has a subtle, orange scent. The mask has a thick and creamy consistency with small beads throughout the emulsion, which are easily absorbed by massaging the product on the skin. Applying this product makes my skin feel heavily moisturized and slightly greasy, leaving a tacky layer on the skin.

Pixi Vitamin-C Collection Review

I’ve used the entire Pixi Vitamin-C Collection as my daily skincare routine during the day and night for two weeks straight. I have a dry to combination skin type that can look dull. Using this combination made my skin definitely look beautifully bright and radiant however, it made my skin feel very greasy as well. I also feel like my pores look bigger.

For my skin type, I think either the first four steps or three steps combined with a light moisturizer would be perfect. I would only use the Caviar Balm when needed. For example, when my skin is really dry during Winter. I would definitely only use the first three steps if you have an oily skin type. Using too Vitamin-C products can be irritating to the skin. I had some trouble using the entire routine at the beginning but my skin got used to it after a few days, so keep that in mind if you are experiencing some irritation.

I would absolutely recommend the Vitamin-C Collection if you’re looking for products that helps to make your skin look more bright and radiant. I would consider one or a few of these products to see what fits in your skincare routine. I don’t think it’s necessary to use all the products of the collection to show results. My favorite product of the collection is the Vitamin-C Serum.

The Pixi Vitamin-C Collection products are available at TheMakeupSpot.nl, Babassu.nl and Babassu Stores.

Met deze lijn ben ik nog niet bekend. Mijn liefde voor Pixi is ontstaan toen ik een paar jaar geleden het Best of Bright-setje kocht. De Glow Tonic gebruik ik nog steeds elke dag.
