Unique Mediheal Masks from Ippo Cosmetics

Hey everyone! I’ve reviewed a few sheet masks from the Korean Beauty webstore Ippo Cosmetics in a previous article and mentioned that a few Mediheal masks deserved a review of their own. The Piggymom Soak Soak Nose PackP.D.F Double Zone Effect Mask and Mogongtox Soda Bubble Sheet are very unique, fun and used a bit differently compared to other sheet masks, which I will show you in this post.

As a reminder, my skin type is dry, which is extremely dry on the cheeks.

Piggymom Soak Soak Nose Pack

Mediheal Piggymom Soak Soak Nose Pack (€5,00) is a very popular type of mask for the treatment of blackheads on the nose area. The pack contains three nose strips helps combat blackheads in the most fun way, leaving skin around the nose area looking clean and smooth.

To use the first step, you need to clean (and use toner) first.  Then, apply the Step 1 strip on the nose for 15-20 minutes. This step is used for opening the pores in preparation of the next step. The strip is wet so it sticks on the nose very nicely. It feels refreshing, minty and tingly, but it does feel a bit itchy after wearing it to the end.

Step 2 is the actual strip that removes the blackheads.  A lot of other brands have these kinds of strips, but don’t have the before and after care. To use the strip, remove the protective film and wet the nose using water. Then, apply the strip on the nose and press it firmly. It is not recommended to apply water directly on the strip itself, because it can over-saturate and it won’t dry after application, which is an important step for the removing the blackheads. Wait for 10-15 minutes until the strip is completely dry. After the strip has dried, remove carefully at the ends. The strip sticks on very well and it does not hurt when removing. I don’t have a lot of trouble with blackheads on the nose, but I definitely have smaller ones, which was removed by this step.

I have made pictures of the strip after use, which doesn’t look very appetizing so you can check them out yourself HERE and a more close-up shot HERE.

Step 3 is a gel like strip and feels super squishy. Use this by applying on the nose and wait for 10 minutes. Then, remove the strip and pat in the leftover moisture. This strip feels so soft and calming! It’s the last step to nourish and to close off the pores.

I love this mask. The first and last step make the Mediheal Piggymom Soak Soak Nose Pack much more effective in comparison to other nose strips that are comparable to Step 2. Opening the pores make it easier for the blackheads to come out, while closing the pores afterwards will help the pores not getting as much dirt inside again. I would definitely use this again.

Mediheal P.D.F Double Zone Effect Mask

The Mediheal P.D.F Double Zone Effect Mask (€5,00) is a special sheet mask consisting of two parts, each having their special properties to target the specific parts of the face.

The upper part of the mask contains Centella Asiatica Extract and Chamomile Flower Extract which soothes the skin and minimize the appearance of pores. This part is very sturdy and is moist and saturated.

The lower part contains Collagen and has a unique design to wear around the ear to lift the skin at the neck and chin area to create V line face. It has a protective film which reveals a gel like consistency.

The upper part is applied as a regular sheet mask, since it’s wet and it will stick on the face immediately. This part was easy to apply and fits well on my face. The bottom part is applied by putting the holes on the ends of the mask over your ears so they get stuck here and around your chin area as you can see in the picture. In total, the mask needs to be used for 20 minutes on the face.

The upper part feels great at the beginning but starts to irritate cheeks a very tiny bit at the end. It leaves a smooth layer on skin, my cheeks were slightly red and irritated but only for a few minutes. The bottom part was also easy to apply however, as hilarious as the bottom part may seem, it felt like it was choking me at the beginning but felt better over time. The pulling feeling on my ears feels worse and worse over time though and I really didn’t like that. The bottom part does feel cooling and sits tight. Afterwards, I could see that the bottom part did tighten skin a bit, making my double chin less visible but unfortunately, I didn’t make any before/after pictures!

This mask was very interesting to use, but due to the uncomfortable feeling of the bottom part, I won’t be using this mask again. My face is very round and wide and I think this feeling also really depends on how your face is shaped.

Mediheal Mogongtox Soda Bubble Sheet

The Mediheal Mogongtox Soda Bubble Sheet (€5,00) is a deep cleansing sheet mask that creates bubbles to remove all the impurities from pores and dead skin cells. It contains Papaya Extract, Apple Extract and Mung Bean Extract which are effective ingredients to cleanse skin. Kaki Leaf Extract and Galactomyces Ferment Flitrate are included to minimize the appearance of pores.

The mask itself is black and very wet and saturated. As soon as I opened the packaging, it immediately started to foam, so I think the mask reacts with oxygen to create the foam.

The mask only covers the bottom part of the face. I really think the mask looks so funny because I felt that I looked like Hannibal Lecter wearing this. Application was easy and fits well except on the mouth area. The sensation of this mask is very unique, strange and funny in a good way, I can feel the bubbles tingling and being created on my face.

This is how the mask looks over time. The bubbles are created very quickly. I wanted to take a picture with the mask on my face when the mask was black like it was opening the package, but it was impossible to do so, even after washing the mask! Over time, the bubble layers gets so big that it goes in my nose and mouth but they can be easily removed. After using the mask for the recommended time of 10 minutes, it becomes very heavy and slips down of my face because of the weight. After washing my face with water, my cheeks felt slightly sensitive (not irritated) and my skin felt very clean.

I really liked this mask. It is so fun to see how the bubbles were created and the sensation of this mask is something that I’ve never felt before when it comes to sheet masks.

The Piggymom Soak Soak Nose PackP.D.F Double Zone Effect Mask and Mogongtox Soda Bubble Sheet are very interesting and fun to use. I think these would also be great as a vlogger for a first impression video and to use with friends. If you love using sheet mask but want to try something slightly different, you should definitely try out these masks.

These masks are available for €5,00 Euro each at Ippocosmetics.com. There are many different sheet masks available on the webstore and if you’re not sure what to pick, the owner Hyesun is very informed about each of the masks and will gladly help you and give recommendations for masks suitable for your skin type.
