The year 2017 has started with very cold weather here in the Netherlands. My skin has become really dry after returning from my Holidays to Thailand. I’m not even kidding, my skin is so extremely dry that it has a white cast and looks leathery. Thankfully, I’ve received a few products from Etos of their new hand & body collection to give my skin some extra pampering during the Winter period. For this post, I’m going to show you a selection of the Etos Winter Skin Essentials.
The new Etos Hand & Body assortment consists of five different handcreams and fourteen products for your body. This means that there is plenty to choose from and there should be a pick for everyone. The products that I’ve received are the Etos Body Butter to Oil, Bodyspray seconde, Handcream Intensive Care and the Overnight Handserum. I’m going to tell you a bit about each individual product and show you the ingredients list. I’m not going to elaborate on the list but if you want more information regarding a specific ingredient, let me know in the comments and I will try to explain it as much as I can. I did have classes in organic chemistry a long time ago but it isn’t my specialty, so I do what everyone basically does, Google!
Etos Body Butter to Oil
The Etos Body Butter to Oil (€4,99) comes in a plastic, transparent jar and contains 150 mL of product. It has a solid, buttery texture that changes into an oil when massaged into the skin. It contains a rich combination of shea butter, cocoa butter, babassu oil, macadamia oil and vitamin E that is supposed to hydrate intensively and make a dull skin looking radiant and feeling soft.
Ingredients list:
The butter feels soft so it’s easy to scoop up a bit of product. I thought that the butter would melt quickly when holding it for a minute due to the warmth but it doesn’t really melt completely. It does melt immediately when rubbing the product on my skin. The butter has a nice scent, I can’t really place what it exactly is but it smells very perfume-y. The oil doesn’t completely disappear in my skin and leaves a thin layer, which does not dry. I like that it leaves a layer but it does feel a bit sticky on my hands, so I have to wash them after applying this product. Overall, the Etos Body Butter to Oil makes my skin look nicely radiant and definitely helps with hydration.
Etos Body Spray Seconde
The Etos Body Spray Seconde (€3,99) comes in a baby blue colored spray canister and contains 200 mL of product. Due to the formula of the body spray, the Vitamin E enriched product is absorbed quickly into the skin and hydrates intensively.
Ingredients list:
According to the instructions, you are supposed to aim the spray at approximately 10 cm towards the skin and rub in after application. The spray is very precise so it sprays a precise beam and not a mist so it doesn’t get everywhere. The formula of the body spray is very thin and watery and has a strong, soapy scent. It’s a bit too strong for my taste but it quickly turns into a more subtle scent after application. The product is immediately absorbed in my skin and leaves the skin completely dry without feeling sticky. I love how soft my skin feels after using the Etos Body Spray Seconde.
I actually like using both products in combination with each other. I first use the Etos Body Spray Seconde and use the Etos Body Butter to Oil immediately afterwards to keep the moisture locked in. Using both of these products over the past few weeks have made my skin looking much better and I don’t have white cast problem since I have been using these daily.
Etos Hand Cream Intensive Care
The Etos Handcream Intensive Care (€1,99) comes in a purple colored, squeezable tube and contains 75 mL of product. This handcream contains Vaseline and is formulated for extra dry skin to care, soften and protect. It is supposed to soften and smooth out dry hands immediately.
Ingredients list:
The formula of this hand cream is normal like any other handcreams. It has a strong, perfume-y scent which is again, too strong for my taste. It isn’t that noticeable after application and keeping my hands to a distance. It does make my hands feel soft and smooth but it also feels a bit like there’s a “waxy” layer on my hands/fingers, which I don’t like. I constantly keep thinking “I feel that there’s something on my hands and I need to wash them” so the Etos Handcream Intensive Care isn’t my cup of tea but I think the extra layer would be great for people who have very dry hands and don’t mind the feeling.
Etos Hand Overnight Handserum
The Etos Overnight Handserum (€2,99) comes in a bubblegum colored tube with a pump and contains 30 mL of product. This is a caring product that is supposed to improve the condition of your skin while sleeping. It is enriched with allantoin, argan oil and Vitamin E to nourish and protect the skin of your hands.
Ingredients list:
I had problems using the Etos Overnight Handserum. Nothing came out when trying to pump out some product, I even tried to open the bottle, which didn’t not work. You can see teeth marks if you look closely on the pictures but apparently, you are not supposed to open this bottle. After letting the bottle stand for a few minutes, some product came out but then I had the same problem again. I still have the problem after trying a few times over the days. I hope that it’s just a problem with my bottle and not something that happens more often because I really like the concept of this product. I can’t really tell if the overnight part works or not because I just can’t get enough product out to test it properly. What I can say about it is that it has a strong perfume-y scent and immediately is absorbed into the skin, making it feel soft and smooth instantly.
I personally like the Body Spray Seconde and the Body Butter to Oil but I’m not a fan of the hand products and that’s because I’m very picky with handcream products. Like I’ve mentioned before, there is plenty to choose from so it’s definitely worth to check out all the products of the Etos Hand & Body range, especially for the affordable price that all the product have!

de Body Butter to Oil lijkt me heel erg fijn!
