The Anastasia liquid lipsticks have been a huge hit in the beauty community. The liquid to matte formula of these liquid lipsticks is supposed to be one of the best ones around. There are 20 different colors available (excluding the 2 limited edition colors from the summer collection). I’m a major fan of matte lipsticks, it is my favorite lipstick finish and is also very long lasting. As a matte lipstick fanatic I of course had to try them. I have bought five colors which I’m going to swatch and review.
These lipsticks are packed in a typical black Anastasia Beverly Hills box with their names and corresponding colors on the outside of the box
The lipstick tube looks beautiful, the tube is clear and has the Anastasia logo and gold details printed on the outside of the tube..
I’m not a very huge fan of the packaging however. I like to bring the lipsticks that I’m wearing in my travel bag, which contains the usual makeup stuff like lipsticks, lipbalm, handlotion etc. I immediately noticed after bringing these lipsticks once that the packaging starts to flake away, which I think is a huge disappointment for something that isn’t very cheap. If you want to keep the packaging intact when traveling, I suggest to put the lipstick in it’s box before putting it in your travel bag.
The liquid lipstick has a regular doe foot applicator which makes it easy to apply the product on my lips.
From left to right: Lovely, Sweet Talker, Heathers, Sad Girl, Vintage. The lipsticks are very opaque and dry in about 30 seconds to a completely matte finish.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Lovely
Lovely is a rosy, dusty pink lipstick. I think the name suits this lipstick very well, it is absolutely Lovely and I think this is a very beautiful and wearable neutral shade for every day.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sweet Talker
Sweet Talker is a bright watermelon pink lipstick. This is very bright, almost neon and girly color, perfect for the summer.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Heathers
Heathers is a dark brick red lipstick with a very slight touch of brown in it. This lipstick is very vampy but also has a classic and sophisticated feeling to it.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Sad Girl
Sad Girl is a beautiful BEAUTIFUL dark berry lipstick which also has some glitter in the mix. I have never seen a matte lipstick with glitter, this is also the only one of the Anastasia Liquid Lipstick range that has glitter in it’s formula. I have no idea why they would call this lipstick Sad Girl, I think this is a bold, unique and amazing color. If I would have to choose one of the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks, it would definitely be this one.
Here you can see Sad Girl up close, the glitters are very small, I don’t feel them at all on my lips and they also don’t stick if you remove the lipstick.
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in Vintage
Vintage is a berry, blue based purple lipstick. It is a really edgy and bold color, not a typical color for the masses. I love this and will probably wear this a lot during the fall season.
All the Anastasia liquid lipsticks are very long lasting, they stay put all day. They do break down when eating greasy food but come on, what lipstick would survive that? I have to say that they are comfortable to wear, as far as matte lipsticks go. They definitely feel drying throughout the day but not so much compared to other matte lipsticks that I have like the MAC Retro Matte lipsticks or the Kat von D Liquid Lipsticks. I absolutely love them and will certainly be getting more of them. I have purchased the two colors from the Summer collection, Craft and Unicorn and I will review them very soon, including a giveaway. Be sure to like The Beautynerd Facebook Page and to follow me on Bloglovin for updates.
The Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks are available for $20 USD (Check xe.com for the current price in Euro’s) on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website. A lot of colors are sold out at the moment, but they will restock soon. You can sign up for their newsletter for updates. One downside is that shipping to the Netherlands costs $17,95 USD. The upside is that packages from Anastasia are sent as a gift, so you should not have any extra tax costs or problems with your package being stuck at customs.
My favorite of this bunch is Sad Girl. What is your favorite color? Do you like liquid-to-matte lipsticks?
Have a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Lariesa
