Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks in American Doll & Potion

The Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks are one of the most popular liquid-to-matte formula lipsticks around. I’m also a huge fan of these lipsticks, I’ve already reviewed other shades which you can find here. I have another pair of the Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks to show you in the shades American Doll and Potion.

These lipsticks are packaged in a black box like all of the Anastasia Beverly Hills products. Their names and corresponding colors are displayed on the outside of the box.

The tubes of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipsticks are clear and has the Anastasia logo and gold details printed on the outside of the tube. I’m a huge fan of clear packaging since you can easily pick out the shade. I’m always struggling to find the MAC lipstick that I want.

I’m not a very huge fan of quality of the printing on the tubes however. I like to bring the lipsticks that I’m wearing in my beauty bag inside my purse, which contains the usual makeup stuff like lipsticks, lipbalm, handlotion etc. I immediately noticed after bringing these lipsticks that the packaging starts to flake away, which I think is a huge disappointment for something that isn’t very cheap. If you want to keep the packaging intact when traveling, I suggest to put the lipstick in it’s box before putting it in your purse.

The liquid lipstick has a slanted doe foot applicator. The applicator is sturdy  and doesnt bend during application, but feels very soft and comfortable to the touch. It is very easy to apply the lipstick with this.

Here are the swatches. On the left is American Doll, on the right is Potion. They both have a matte finish and dry in about one to two minutes.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick in American Doll

ABH American Doll is a true red, very slightly blue based lipstick. On the promotional pictures, it looks like a very blue based red lipstick like MAC RiRi Woo is, but it doesn’t look like that on me but more like a true red lipstick. I’m more in favor of the more blue based red lipsticks, but this is still a very beautiful, classic shade. The Lipstick is very easy to apply and feels very smooth and creamy. It dries down in one to two minutes but it stays tacky for like five minutes before it completely mattifies.

ABH Potion is a dark blue/purple lipstick. This is a very bold, unique and daring shade of lipstick. It is so dark that it almost looks like a black shade. You can try to put less lipstick on but it will be a bit difficult, because it will apply patchy if you want to have a thin layer. Overall, it is easy to apply if you just go over the the more patchy area’s. I don’t really wear this shade that much but with fall coming up, I think I’m going to try and wear this more often.

All the Anastasia liquid lipsticks are very long lasting, they stay put all day. They do break down when eating greasy food so you have to re-apply after that. For liquid lipsticks, they are comfortable to wear but definitely feel drying throughout the day.

The Anastasia Liquid Lipsticks are available for $20 USD (Check xe.com for the current price in Euro) on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website. Both shades are available at the moment. International shipping is on the pricey side, it costs $12,95 USD. There’s also a chance that you have to pay extra taxes through customs, so you might want to wait because there are rumors that these lipsticks will become available on the Dutch Anastasia Beverly Hills website this winter. I of course will update you guys if this will happen!
