Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick Collection

Clinique has collaborated with the iconic crayon brand Crayola to create the Limited Edition Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick Collection, consisting of ten different Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm shades in total. I’m going to show you three shades of this collection.

The three Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks shades that I’ve received are Pink Sherbert, Tickle Me Pink and Mango Tango.

The Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks come in a colorful, fun cardboard packaging which looks similar to the wrapping of a Crayola crayon. The color of the packaging is similar to the actual Chubby Stick shade with white details.

The The Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks themselves also look similar to the wrapping of a Crayola crayon. Again, the color of the packaging is similar to the shade with white and silver details. Like any other Clinique Chubby Stick product, you can twist the bottom to twist the product upwards. You get 3 grams of product in total.

Here are the swatches of the Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks in Pink SherbertTickle Me Pink and Mango Tango. All these shades are quite sheer since these are Moisturizing Colour Balms, the two pink shades are just sheer with a light tint but Mango Tango actually has a very subtle golden shimmer. There are shades in the collection with a that have the Intense Colour Balm finish so not all the shades in the collection are sheer. The shades all glide on easily and do not have any added fragrance, but I do notice a scent and taste of the “raw ingredients”, which actually reminds me of crayons.

Before continuing with the lipswatches, I have to say that I have been sick for a few weeks (I’m thankfully better now!) which has impacted my lips a lot, they are very dry and crusty so this is not how swatches normally look on my lips so the shades would definitely look less patchy normally! Also, be reminded that since these shades have a sheer finish, the lip color can have a major effect on how the shade looks.

Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Pink Sherbert

Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Pink Sherbert is a pink shade with a sheer finish. This shade actually looks very similar to my own lip color. The product feels nicely moisturizing, which I definitely needed with my super chapped lips! Of course, because of my chapped lips, it doesn’t look very even on pictures, but I tried it after my lips have healed a bit and then it applied very evenly. Since it’s a balm, the shade of course doesn’t last lang so re-application is needed from time-to-time but I do have to say it does stay on my lips longer than other lipbalms.

Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Tickle Me Pink

Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Tickle Me Pink is a nude pink shade with a sheer finish. This shade has thrown me off a bit, putting the packaging of this shade next to (look at the third picture for yourself) Pink Sherbert, this one looks darker but it actually swatches way lighter compared to that shade! I really didn’t expect that but it’s definitely because the shades are so sheer. Either way, I do love how the shade looks. It again looks a bit patchy due to my chapped lips but it normally applies evenly.

Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Mango Tango

Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick in Mango Tango is a coral red shade that contains golden microshimmer with a sheer finish. Unfortunately, the microshimmer isn’t very noticable on the lips, but the shade itself is very beautiful. It does apply a bit more patchy (especially with my chapped lips) compared to the other two shades, but it almost isn’t noticeable when my lips were healed.

The Clinique Crayola Chubby Sticks feel extremely comfortable on the lips. The formula feels very soft and slippery on the lips without feeling sticky at all. It is very moisturizing and they definitely helped healing my lips after being sick for a few weeks.

I have to be honest with you though, I personally would not spend that much money on a product with a sheer formula like this, also because I love scented products but this is just a personal preference. Like I’ve mentioned before, there are shades in the collection with a that have the Intense Colour Balm finish so not all the shades in the collection are sheer. Also, I kind of would’ve expected that a collaboration with Crayola would result into intense, bright and opaque lip colors, also with more unique shades or am I just the only one who is thinking that? The only thing is the similar packaging and I feel like Clinique has played it a bit too safe with this collection.

I do think the products look beautiful on the lips. I actually can’t pick a favorite because I love all the shades in their own way. It’s a good product to use daily, even without make-up and especially if you have dry lips all the time.

The Limited Edition Clinique Crayola Chubby Stick Collection are available for €21,00 Euro (suggested retail price) at Clinique.nl and several beauty stores like De Bijenkorf, Douglas and Ici Paris XL.
