ICONIC London Luminous Powder Collection Review

ICONIC London Luminous Powder

Always wanted to look like a glowing goddess? The ICONIC London Luminous Powder is described as a glow-giving finishing powder consisting of super-reflective pearls and pigments to create a soft-focus, golden sheen. I’m going to review these revolutionary, Instagram filter in a compact powders in today’s post.

The ICONIC London Luminous Powder was originally available in one shade but recently, two new shades were introduced for lighter and deeper skin tones. Each product consists of three silky shimmer powders pressed in a beautiful, art-deco style. The shades can be worn alone or swirled together for application on the face and body.

Here are swatches of all three ICONIC London Luminous Powders in Light, Original and Deep. All the powders feel very silky and smooth, have a strong pigmentation and are easy to diffuse and blend. I do think that the finish is quite metallic and not something that I would personally look for in a finishing powder or a bronzer.

Here are all the shades swatched next to each other. As you can see, they show a nice gradient from light to deep. Looking at the finish, I would personally use this product as a highlighter. The shade Fair would be perfect as a highlighter for my skin tone.

To apply the product, the brand recommends to use the ICONIC London Pro Puff Brush (€‌43,00 Euro) by swirling the brush in the compact and continue to sweep along the cheekbones, hairline and across the decolletage, arms and legs for an instant golden gloss.

Here is a before and after using the ICONIC London Luminous Powder in Original on the cheekbones, hairline and on the bridge of my nose using the Pro Puff Brush. On these areas, I would normally use a bronzer but I used this powder instead. The product does give me a little bit more of a bronzed look but I think it would look better as a bronzer topper.

I also used the individual darkest and middle shade of the Original powder on my eyelid and as an inner corner highlighter.

I’m not a huge fan of the ICONIC London Luminous Powder when used as recommended. I find the finish being too metallic instead of being “wet”, reflective and looking natural. It does give a beautiful glow in pictures but it doesn’t look too good on me in natural lighting. It does look okay with indoor lighting.

I also don’t like the application using the Pro Puff Brush. It’s way too big for the face but I do really like it for application on the body. The brush really soft and dense so it applies product very quickly and evenly on the body.

I do prefer the powder much more as a highlighter or as an eyeshadow. I also enjoy using it on the body if the powder is applied sheer. I think that the luminous powders might be interesting to try if you like bronzers with a shimmery finish. It might also be good if you have a night time event where lots of pictures are taken.
