I have another Ipsy Glam Bag “unboxing” for you. I was really happy with my first Glam Bag of the previous month and I will definitely keep showing you mine because I think this is the best monthly subscription service for beauty products that I’ve tried so far. The Ipsy Glam Bag is only available in the U.S. but thanks to Shipito, we are now able to subscribe and send the bag to the Netherlands! The Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016 is themed “Hot Summer Nights”.
The Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016 was designed to capture the low-key, laid-back vibes of Summer. The bag is made of plastic holographic silver with an umbrella pattern. It reminds me of a futuristic holographic beach. The theme “Hot Summer Nights” is about having fun on a Summer night at Bonfires, BBQs and Pool parties where you can rock a sexy smoldering Summer Look. The contents of the Ipsy Glam Bag is different for everyone. You have to fill in your preferences and style during subscription so that you get your own bag filled with your personal preferences. Ipsy stylists like Chrisspy, Desi Perkins, Lustrelux and Promise Phan pick out products to feature in the bags each month. I actually have no idea who is on the info card of this months bag. Let me know in the comments if you know who this lovely girl is!
My Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016 contains five products. Like last month, I believe that three products are fullsized and two deluxe miniatures. I think you always get five products in the bag. I will leave the description of the products according to Ipsy and give you my opinion after.
theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Kumar – is a Matte Cranberry Shade and is triple milled, which It means this shadow is super fine, making it smooth and easy to blend. It has an Ultra-matte finish perfect on your lids, in the crease or as a transition shade.
Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks Blush in Peach Pink – Start with this universally flattering and foolproof shade. And build a glow that goes from subtle sheen to full-on flush. Irridescent finish with subtle sparkle, long-lasting color that takes you from day to dancefloor, cruelty-free and never tested on fuzzy friends
Model Launcher Cosmetics Felt Tip Eyeliner in Emerald Isle – Green with envy? Everyone will be—when you steal the spotlight in this emerald shade. It doesn’t just make your outfit. It IS the outfit. Smooth formula glides easily across your lid, no-slip grip means you can apply precisely, stays put and won’t bleed. Perfect for trying a pop of color for the first time.
BeFine Food Skin Care Night Cream – This ultra-lush cream goes on like buttah and recharges your skin while you sleep. Natural estrogen works to reduce wrinkles and prevent premature aging, Allergen-free fragrance, improves circulation in the skin for healthier color and tone.
Here are swatches of the products from left to right: theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Kumar, Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks Blush in Peach Pink, Model Launcher Cosmetics Felt Tip Eyeliner in Emerald Isle and BeFine Food Skin Care Night Cream. I already own a TheBalm Meet Matt(e) Eyeshadow palette and I think they are one of the best matte eyeshadow formulas of all time. I don’t own Matt Kumar yet and this is no exception, the pigmentation is great, the shade is beautiful and feels super soft and buttery. I agree that the Elizabeth Moth Peach Pink Blush looks very universal. The shade is really sheer so you can build up the shade for a more intense look. It is very shimmery, almost to the point where I thought it was a highlighter but it doesn’t turn your cheek to a discoball. I’m not a huge fan of Felt Tip Eyeliners because they tend to dry on me very quickly. I can’t judge that yet with the Model Launcher Eyeliner in Emerald Isle, but at least the shade looks very unique and stays on hard, even with a water-proof remover it still takes some effort to remove the eyeliner. It does look a bit sheer on the swatch but I think it looks good on my eyes. The BeFine Night Cream feels very nice and moisturizing, is absorbed into my skin quickly, leaving my skin feeling a bit tacky without feeling oily. I don’t like the scent though, I feel there’s no fragrance at all and you just smell the ingredients.
Trust Fund Beauty Nail Polish in No Filter – This soft violet shade paints your tips in the perfect light. Skip the double coat. Delivers an opaque effect in a single swipe. hick formula dries fast to super shiny finish, 10-free and fabulous (aka none of the typical toxic ingredients).
I don’t agree with Ipsy that you only need one coat for an opaque effect. Even though the formula is great, not too runny or thick and highly pigmented, I definitely needed two coats for an even look. The polish dries very fast so I could immediately apply the second coat after the first. I really love this shade. Nailpolishes tend to chip on me immediately (which was also the case with this one) so I can’t really tell how the wearing time will be, because I think it is completely different per person, depending on the health of your nails and your daily life.
I created this look using all the products of the Ipsy Glam Bag July 2016. I used theBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Kumar in my crease and intensified on the outer 3rd of my lid, and also smudged the shade on my bottom lid. I love this shade so much it is easily blendable and can be used with many different looks. I used the Model Launcher Cosmetics Felt Tip Eyeliner in Emerald Isle to create a winged liner. I was afraid how I would have to combine these two products but they work out really well. I have watery eyes and oily eyelids and the Model Launcher Eyeliner really stays on well. The shade is very pretty and can give a nice colorful pop in a natural look.
I used the Elizabeth Mott Show Me Your Cheeks Blush in Peach Pink on my cheeks. The blush looks very subtle, which I love. I don’t like heavy blush so this is perfect for me. I don’t think you can intensify this blush by a lot and is probably more intended for a natural glowy look.
I’m again really happy with my Ipsy Glam Bag. I really love the variety of brands and products. I’m still so impressed that you can get items from brands like TheBalm and Urban Decay, even if they’re miniature sized, you can still get a lot of use of a miniature eyeshadow.. My favorite item from this months box is TheBalm Cosmetics Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Kumar. I mean come on, look at that friggin’ cute mini ature packaging!! I’m in love.
The Ipsy Glam Bag is $10 USD per month. When you use your Shipito address to send the bag to the Netherlands, it will cost an additional $7,25 USD making a total of $17,25 USD per month, which is about €15,50 Euro (check Xe.com for the exact converted price). For me, it took about 2-3 weeks to arrive. I think that the bag is well worth the price and way better than the products in the Dutch subscription boxes.
If you want, you can subscribe to the Ipsy Glam Bag using this link. This is an affiliate link, which gives me 250 points when someone subscribes via that link. With these points, I can get additional products in my next box but again, feel free to do whatever you want!
Which product is your favorite from this months box?
Prijsje valt best wel mee en ik vind dat er mooie items in zitten! Vooral die mono van the Balm is echt super mooi 😀 Ik dacht trouwens dat nagellak niet internationaal geshipt mocht worden? :O
