Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Collection Review

Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Collection Review

Lancôme has collaborated with Chiara Ferragni, a famous fashion influencer to create a Limited Edition make-up collection. The products of the collection are designed by Chiara and inspired by her everyday essentials. For today’s post, I’m going to review a selection of the Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Collection.

Chiara Ferragni L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine Lipstick

The Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine Lipstick (€35,50 Euro/3,2 g, suggested retail price) is described as a hydrating, conditioning lipstick with a balm-like texture, enriched with Prolyxane and Rose Oils to glide easily on the lips for an instant shine effect. The lipstick has the same pink metallic tube like the original line, but is displays the Chiara’s signature flirty, winking eyes artwork.

There are three Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine Lipstick shades available. I’ve swatches two, which are Positive Attitude, a pink shade and Independent Woman, a mauve shade. I really am loving the shades, especially Independent Woman because I’m a sucker for mauves.

The shades were picked to easily swipe on, even without a mirror so they are sheer. Like most of the product from the brand, these lipsticks are heavily scented, which I personally enjoy. The scent reminds me of floral mango. The product glides on easily and applies even with a super shiny finish. I really love lipsticks like this one, feeling extremely comfortable and easy to use.

Chiara Ferragni L’Absolu Lacquer

The Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni L’Absolu Lacquer (€33,00 Euro/8 mL, suggested retail price) is described as an innovative lip lacquer, combining the comfort and shine of a gloss, pigmentation of a lipstick and the lasting power of a stain, providing up to six hours of wear. The product is buildable from sheer to full coverage in one to three coats. The formula enriched with Glycerin to hydate the lips and is supposed to feel lightweight and non sticky. You can also find a full, detailed review of the Lancôme L’Absolu Lacquer in this post.

Like the lipsticks, the lip lacquers have a metallic, pink tube combined with Chiara’s signature flirty, winking eyes artwork.

There are three shades available in the collection, which are 1987 – Girl Next Door, a pale nude with gold shimmer, 2017 – Power Talk, a brick red shade with gold shimmer and 2018 – Sweet Mom, a burnt, pink shade with gold and pink glitter. The colors aren’t really speaking to me personally.

Like I mentioned in my previous review, I kinda have a love/hate relationship with the formula of the Lancôme L’Absolu Lacquer. They are really hydrating but feel thick and look kinda patchy when rubbing your lips together. They also have a strong, floral scent. I would highly suggest to try the formula on your lips before considering to purchase these products.

Chiara Ferragni Flirting Palette

The Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Flirting Palette (€65,00 Euro, suggested retail price) is the star product of the collection, containing a lipgloss, four lipstick shades, for eyeshadow shades, a blush, three highlighter shades and three brushes. The palette was designed to create a variety of looks for every occasion, inspired by Chiara’s signature style.

The front of the palette definitely stands-out, having the flirty, winking eyes artwork combined with a glittery pink background.

Here are swatches of the lip products inside the palette, which are the gloss Shimmer After Lipstick, a white shimmer in a milky white base and the lipsticks Pick-a-Pink, a pink shade, Rose-Carpet, a magenta shade, Ciao! Berry, a mauve-y rose shade and Red’in L.A., a orange red shade.

Like the other lip products of the collection, these are scented. The lipgloss especially has a strong, floral scent. I’m personally not a huge fan of lipsticks inside palettes because I usually find them difficult to use. There is an applicator included, making it a bit easier to apply. The pigmentation of the lipsticks are good but still a bit sheer. They are however, buildable to a full coverage and apply evenly. The finish looks shiny initially but gets more to a velvet matte finish over time. I do feel that these become more drying over time.

Here are swatches of the rest inside of the Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Flirting Palette, which are the four eyeshadows, the blush and the three highlighters.

All the powder products are firmly pressed into the palette, which is good because they don’t create fallout, which is absolutely important when it comes to a palette that contains cream and powder products. The eyeshadows have a strong pigmentation and swatch easily onto the skin. The blush gives off a good amount pay-off and can be easily applied. The highlighters have a good pigmentation but I find the shades to be a bit strange for highlighters. Also, the finish is more metallic than reflective. I consider them more as eyeshadows than a highlighter.

Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Collection Look

For my eyes, I used the eyeshadow shades in Eye’ll Do a SmokyI’ll  Go Out and I’ll Relax. For my face, I used the Blush Me Up blush and mixed the highlighters Sea Kissed and Sun Kissed. And finally for my lips, I used Ciao! Berry and Shimmer After-Lipstick on the center.

I like the looks that you can create using the Chiara Ferragni Flirting Palette, but I find an “all-in-one” palette to be a little bit outdated. The blush and lipstick applicators are okay but the eyeshadow brush isn’t really usable. I also miss something to keep the cream products stored. Even though the powder products do not have fall-out, other things like dust still can fly by and get stuck into the cream products when you have the palette open.

I’d rather see a quad of those beautiful eyeshadows (with preferably a matte transition shade) than a this palette with subpar quality lipsticks and highlighters. I understand the concept of it but I don’t see many people using this combination, especially if it is targeted towards a younger generation.

If you’re a packaging hoarder or a fan of Chiara, it is probably worth getting but if you’re not, you probably won’t find something special in the palette.

Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Collection Look

I think that the Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni Collection is cute and a nice introduction to a younger generation who might not be very familiar with products of the brand. All products are very wearable and cohesive. My favorite part of the collection are the Lancôme x Chiara Ferragni L’Absolu Mademoiselle Shine Lipsticks, definitely worth checking out if you love sheer and nourishing lipsticks.
