MAC Prep + Prime Fix + is a product that has been present for a long time. This has been a favorite and must-have product for many people, including myself. According to MAC Cosmetics, Fix+ is “A soothing moisture mist that refreshes the skin and finishes makeup”. In today’s post, I would like to tell you more about this amazing make-up finishing spray.
I really love MAC Prep + Prime packaging, it’s a black and shiny box with purple and teal glitters, I really wish I could capture the awesomeness on picture. All the Prep + Prime products come in a box like this, including Fix+.
The spray bottle has a frosty transparent part and contains 100 mL of product. Normally, the transparent part is white instead of yellow-ish. The reason is because I have a limited edition bottle, that is coconut scented. These are sold out a long time ago unfortunately, the normal MAC Prep + Prime Fix + is unscented. You can twist the black cap as an extra safe-lock.
Here are the ingredients of the MAC Prep + Prime Fix +. I won’t be going through all the ingredients in the list (google is your friend) but I will discuss the top ingredients. Ingredients in products are always in order of the most present ingredient to least. The top ingredient is water, like you always see in products like these. The next ingredients are Glycerin and Butylene Glycol. Glycerin helps products stick better to your skin but also has some skin repairing effects. Butylene Glycol is a solvent, since there are also oils in this product and oils do not mix with water. It also a conditioning agent, since a lot of products in this spray can be viscous, it helps to decrease the viscosity. The next few ingredients have skin hydrating and refreshing properties to calm and boost your skin. If you have any more questions about the a certain ingredient, let me know in the comments so I can elaborate more if you want.
Before/After MAC Prep + Prime Fix +
The reason why I really like the MAC Prep + Prime Fix + because it melts powders into the rest of my make-up. I have seen powder make-up products on friends with an oily skin just disappearing flawlessly on their skin. On my dry to combination skin, powders just stay on top, looking very unnatural. With MAC Prep + Prime Fix +, everything looks far more natural and blended, giving me a healthy radiance. That said, I don’t know if Fix+ has the same finishing effect on oily skin types, but it will still have the calming properties for the skin.
Another way that you could use MAC Prep + Prime Fix + is mixing with shimmery/metallic powder products like eyeshadows or highlighters to intensify the effect. Due to the Glycerin, it also helps the product stick better than mixing with regular tap water. Personally, I like to use this technique by spraying a brush with Fix+ first, pick up the eyeshadow and spray one more time afterwards. I made the swatches above using a MAC 213 Eyeshadow Brush with and without Fix+.
The MAC Prep + Prime Fix + is available for €16.50 Euro at the MAC counters and MACCosmetics.nl.

Am a huge fan of the fix+! I use it but in my metallic eyeshadow to highlight and to fishing my make up look. When I hear about the scented fix + them where to late it was sold out I would of loved to get my hands on coconut, cucumber ect.
Hi! OMG settingspray is my life! Without it, my highlighter looks like plain powder ????. It makes my highlighter pop, everything stays in put. And since i have a very dry skin (eczema) it just hydrates it really good. i always use the urban decay all nighter, but i find that tht one makes my skin a lil dry, so i always use 2, fix+ for hydration and the urban decay one so my makeup stays in put the whole day. I would loveee to use the coconut one, and jt would come in handy since mine is almost empty ????. Anywayy, i hope i win this oneeeee, who wouldnt want to have a nice smelling, glowing, dewy skin ??
love salsa
(btw ik kan gwn nederlands mr this is way more fun)
