NABLA Denude Collection Review – Highlighters

NABLA has launched the Denude Collection for Summer 2018, consisting of a large selection of make-up products to create the most glowing, summer look. For this post, I’m going to review and focus on the highlighter products of the NABLA Denude Collection.

The entire NABLA Denude Collection consists of Glow Skin Stick Highlighters and BlushesPressed HighlightersMetalglam Liquid EyeshadowsCult Classic Lipsticks, Velvetine Lip Liners and accessories. Since the collection is too big to cover for one review, I’ve split them up into three separate reviews:

– Highlighters and Blushes
– Metalglam Liquid Eyeshadows
Cult Classic Lipsticks and Lip Liners

NABLA Glowy Skin Sticks

The NABLA Glowy Skin Sticks (€15,50 Euro/5.1 gr each) are cream products that stay dewy with a glossy finish. These products are available in three highlighter shades and two blush shades.

The NABLA Glowy Skin Sticks come in a plastic, shimmery nude tube with champagne gold details. The packaging is lightweight and feel a bit plastic-y and cheap but still look nice and modern.

The product can be twisted up and down by turning the bottom metallic part. The full product is about 1,5 to 2 cm long, which doesn’t look like much but a little goes a long way with this product. I don’t even see a difference after using it so it can definitely be used many, many times.

The NABLA Glowy Skin Sticks are very creamy and leave a thin layer of product on my skin. They look pearlescent and have a very glossy finish due to the oils and wax included in the formula. According to the brand, the product is meant to not dry so they keep their super glossy looking finish throughout the day.

The shades are described as follows:

SURREAL (highlighter) – Translucent base with a duochrome peachy and pink reflect
BEIGE MIRAGE (highlighter) – Champagne
NUDE JOB (highlighter) – Warm bronzed gold
MAYBE BABY (blush) – Light rosy-peach with golden micro reflects
DESERT ROSE (blush) – Burnt red with magenta micro reflects

NABLA Pressed Highlighters

The NABLA Pressed Highlighters (€16,50 Euro/10 gr each) is available of four different shades, consisting of a high concentration of super thin pearls to create a mirrored and super luminous glow at the first swipe.

The NABLA Pressed Highlighters come in a sturdy, cardboard compact nude and red details. The compact has a magnetic closure and a mirror on the inside of the lid. The packaging is also lightweight still looks luxurious, I love the nude and red combination!

The NABLA Pressed Highlighters feel soft, buttery, have a nice pigmentation and apply evenly. According to the brand, the product is supposed to have a long-lasting formula and doesn’t emphasize the texture of the skin.

The shades are described as follows:

WAVE – Very light neutral champagne
VENUS SAND – Light pink with golden peach reflects
SAVAGE – Medium warm gold
SUNDANCE – Warm bronze with rose gold reflects

For applying the NABLA Pressed Highlighter on my skin, I used the Highlighter Brush (€11,50 Euro), also a part of the Denude Collection. This is a tapered brush made of a synthetic material. The brush feels super soft and picks up a lot of product without any fallout. The shape makes it easy to apply the highlighters on all the high points of the face. I like it so much that I’m actually using this brush as my standard highlight applicator ever since I’ve tried it.

For this look, I used the NABLA Glowy Skin Stick Highlighter in Nude Job as a highlighter base on my cheeks, nose bridge and cupids bow. Then, I used the NABLA Pressed Highlighter in Savage on top of the stick highlighter. Finally, I used the NABLA Glowy Skin Stick Blush in Desert Rose on the apples of my cheeks blending inwards.

I’m not a huge fan of the NABLA Glowy Skin Sticks. I normally love cream products because they often look very skin like, but I feel like these ones emphasize texture and do not like to be combined with powder products. It doesn’t break down powder but next to my under eye concealer set with powder, it just looks a bit weird. Also, I don’t like how it stays feeling tacky the entire time but that’s just a personal preference. If you’re someone who doesn’t use powders and love a natural, skin like finish, you will love the NABLA Glowy Skin Sticks.

I do really like the NABLA Pressed Highlighters. The product is easy to use, is buildable and has a beautiful reflect that doesn’t emphasize texture too much. The shade that I currently use is Savage, but I’m sure I will be loving the shade Venus Sand when I’m less tanned.
