NABLA has launched the Denude Collection for Summer 2018, consisting of a large selection of make-up products to create the most glowing, summer look. For this post, I’m going to review and focus on the METALGLAM Metallic Liquid Eyeshadows of the NABLA Denude Collection.
The entire NABLA Denude Collection consists of Glow Skin Stick Highlighters and Blushes, Pressed Highlighters, Metalglam Liquid Eyeshadows, Cult Classic Lipsticks, Velvetine Lip Liners and accessories. Since the collection is too big to cover for one review, I’ve split them up into three separate reviews:
– Highlighters and Blushes
– Metalglam Liquid Eyeshadows
– Cult Classic Lipsticks and Lip Liners
The NABLA METALGLAM Metallic Liquid Eyeshadows (€12,50 Euro/4.5 mL each) are long-wearing, highly pigmented liquid eyeshadows with a luminous metallic finish, available in four different shades. The product comes in a plastic tube that has a gradient from metallic champagne gold to transparent. I’m absolutely obsessed with the gradient tube. It looks so stunning in combination with the product.
Opening the tube reveals a doe foot applicator, which you can use to apply the product directly on your eyes for an intense effect or to apply a small amount on the center of the lid and diffuse by using a brush.
Here are the swatches of the NABLA METALGLAM Metallic Liquid Eyeshadows of the Denude Collection. According to the brand, the product has a combination of pigments, pearls and micro sparkles that creates a shiny and 3-D effect.
The shade are described as follows:
ETHEREAL – Light champagne with platinum micro sparkles
LOST IN PARADISE – Peachy-pink with rose and champagne micro sparkles
SIDERAL SHELL – Mauve-pink with wisteria reflects and platinum micro sparkles
GOLDEN HOUR – Bronze with golden reflects and champagne micro sparkles
The products have a creamy formula that applies thin and opaque, which can be diffused however, you have to work quickly because when this product dries after about 30 seconds to a minute, it does not move at all. It isn’t completely water-proof but it is definitely smudge-proof.
For this look, I used GOLDEN HOUR (inner two 3rds of the upper lid and on the inner 3rd of the lower lid) and ETHEREAL (inner corner highlight) in combination with GEA (transition shade), MIDDLE KARMA (crease and lower lid) and CARAVAGGIO (outer 3rd of the lids) NABLA Soul Blooming Eyeshadow Palette (review here).
The NABLA METALGLAM Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow in GOLDEN HOUR looks absolutely beautiful and reflective, it’s like having liquid gold on my eyelids! ETHEREAL is beautiful as an inner corner highlight but I think it is a bit too icy in combination with this look.
For the second look, I used LOST IN PARADISE (middle of the upper and lower lids) and ETHEREAL (inner corner highlight) in combination with GEA (transition shade) and BOLERO (crease, inner and outer 3rds of the lids) NABLA Soul Blooming Eyeshadow Palette (review here).
The NABLA METALGLAM Metallic Liquid Eyeshadow in LOST IN PARADISE is also very reflective and such a unique color on the lids, a definite eye-catcher! ETHEREAL is much more beautiful in combination with this look.
I unfortunately didn’t create a look using SIDERAL SHELL. From what I can tell is that it’s another unique shade, the reflective, metallic-effect is not so strong but it has a nice shimmer and gives off a beautiful, almost duochrome reflect.
The NABLA METALGLAM Metallic Liquid Eyeshadows are absolutely stunning, easy to work with and long-lasting. I love how they look completely opaque and the only thing I needed to do is swipe some of the product and blend the edges using eyeshadow. I have hooded eyes and the liquid eyeshadows didn’t move or crease on me. They can give a very metallic and reflective effect that a normal eyeshadow can make because of its consistency. My favorite picks are GOLDEN HOUR and LOST IN PARADISE.
