NARS has launched the Limited Edition Multi-use Gloss that create a special, sparkling effect on the lips. These can be worn alone or layered for endless glossy combinations. Aside from the Limited Edition glosses, the brand has extended their Lip Gloss line with a total of 27 shades. For today’s post, I’m going to show and review a selection of the NARS Multi-use Glosses and some new additions of the Lip Glosses.
The Limited Edition NARS Multi-use Gloss (€24,00 Euro/5.2 mL) comes in five luminous shades, containing Coconut Oil and Vitamin E to soften and hydrate. I’ve received the shades First Time and Redemption.
The NARS Lip Gloss (€24,00 Euro/6 mL) are available in nine new shades, enriched with nourishing ingredients such as Sea Lavender to help protect against signs of aging, as well as other nourishing ingredients to hydrate and smooth lips. I’ve received the shades Sexy Time, Outrage, Mythic Red and Fever Beat.
The NARS Multi-use Gloss has a smooth applicator, which can evenly distribute the product and intensifies shine for a more polished look. The NARS Lip Glosses have a regular doe-foot applicator.
Here are swatches of the NARS Multi-use Gloss and Lip Gloss in the shades First Time, Sexy Time, Redemption, Outrage, Mythic Red and Fever Beat.
I actually thought that Sexy Time was a Multi-use Gloss until I started writing this post, which is why it’s between the two shades. Overall, the glosses feel like they have the same type of texture. It seems like the regular lip gloss has a slightly thicker consistency, but it isn’t very noticeable.
NARS Multi-use Gloss in First Time
The NARS Multi-use Gloss in First Time is described as a Shimmering Pewter shade. Looking at the shade up close, it has a clear base with silver micro-shimmer. I thought this shade wouldn’t look good on me but it actually looks amazing! The sparkle makes my lips look super reflective and shiny. I would wear this both on its own and on top of another shade.
NARS Lip Gloss in Sexy Time
The NARS Lip Gloss in Sexy Time is described as a Vivid Gold shade. Looking at the shade up close, it has a clear base with gold micro-shimmer. Comparing this shade to the Multi-use Gloss shades, it does seem to be less reflective. Either way, it is still a very shimmering gloss, which I personally would prefer on top of another shade.
NARS Multi-use Gloss in Redemption
The NARS Multi-use Gloss in Redemption is described as a Soft Rose Gold shade. Looking at the shade up close, it has a clear base packed with pink and gold micro-shimmer. The micro-shimmers are very concentrated in this shade, almost making the base look metallic. I really think this makes my lips look very interesting and reflective. I would wear this both on its own and on top of another shade.
NARS Lip Gloss in Outrage
The NARS Lip Gloss in Outrage is described as a Light Peach shade. Sheer and light gloss shades like this one tend to settle into the fine lines of the lips. It doesn’t look uneven from a normal distance, but it still bothers me up close, which is why I prefer this shade on top of a liner or lipstick.
NARS Lip Gloss in Mythic Red
The NARS Lip Gloss in Mythic Red is described as a Soft Blushing Mauve shade. It’s a funny name for a mauve, and I’m a sucker for these types of shades. It does apply opaque but I still feel like my pigmented lips make the shade look more pink and vibrant. I like to wear this shade on its own.
NARS Lip Gloss in Fever Beat
The NARS Lip Gloss in Fever Beat is described as a Rose Plum shade. Again, the shade does apply opaque but I still feel like my pigmented lips make the shade look more red and vibrant. I like to wear this shade on its own.
I really like the NARS Lip Gloss products, both the regular and the Multi-use Glosses. There are so many beautiful shades with different finishes to pick from, and from what I have tried so far, are all very glossy, easy to apply and comfortable. They all have a creamy consistency and feel nourishing to the lips without feeling sticky. The glosses that contain shimmer do not feel gritty at all. My favorite shades are Redemption and Mythic Red.
