NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Collection Review

NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi

NYX Professional Makeup introduces the Love You So Mochi Collection, inspired by the bouncy, soft and pillowy texture of the Japanese Mochi treat. The products that I’m going to show and review today are the NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Shadow Palette in Sleek and Chic and the Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Arcade Glam and Lit Life.

The NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Collection consists of two shadow palettes, two highlighting palettes and eight Powder Puff Lippies, which I’m going to show you in a future post.

NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Shadow Palette in Sleek and Chic

The NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Shadow Palette in Sleek and Chic (€21,05 Euro/10x 1,3 gr) is made of plastic and has a transparent lid. The palette has the logo and the Love You So Mochi logo printed on top in black and holographic print.

The palette consists of 10 shades in total, eight eyeshadow and two pigments. If you have seen my previous reviews about NYX Professional Makeup eyeshadow palettes, you know that I have a huge complain about the icons on the back, considering pigments not to be used on the eyes. Finally, I know the reason! The pigments contain the ingredient Mica, which is considered not safe to be used around the eye area for US standards and an icon such as the one the brand uses is mandatory to put on the palette as a safety warning. In other countries, the rules are less strict for Mica so these conditions do not apply so outside the US, it is considered safe to be used around the eyes. Therefore, you can use the pigment shades on the eyes however, if you have a sensitive skin, you might want to be careful with the pigment shades.

NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Shadow Palette in Sleek and Chic eyeshadow shades are 1, 3-7, 9 and 10 so the pigments are 2 and 8. The shades have different finishes, from a matte and satin shade to metallics and glitters. The consistency of the eyeshadows are really funny, something that I don’t have in my make-up collection. They feel like putty, really pillowy and even feels slightly like a cream eyeshadow. This creates a really smooth texture and they all look really pigmented and swatch very evenly.

For this look, I used 1 all over the eyes as a base, as a transition shade, all over the lid, crease and bottom lid, 10 on the lid and lower lashline and as an inner corner highlight.

I was curious on how the the texture would perform using a brush and it worked out just fine. The products really work well together and blend easily. There is zero fallout, also no fallout from the glitter shade and I think it’s because the formula is slightly creamy.

I really like the NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Shadow Palette in Sleek and Chic. The shades perform great and I love the glittery shadows and 10 but I do think it lacks some matte shades so for me, it would be a great palette to combine with other eyeshadows.

NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palettes

The NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Arcade Glam and  Lit Life (€21,05 Euro each/3x 5,4 gr) has the same look as the eyeshadow palette, only being smaller. The highlighter palettes each have three different highlighting shades.

The texture of the highlighters is also has the same pillowy and bouncy feeling as the eyeshadows. Here you can see the texture a bit when I push my finger down. It really is like a putty or dough!

The NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Arcade Glam contains three duochrome cool-toned shades. The first shade is a pale yellow and shifts pink, the second shade is a pale pink and shifts white and the third shade is white and shifts blue.

I love this palette! The shades are very unique, pigmented and easy to apply. I probably would only wear the first shade on a daily basis but I think the other two are great for more artistic looks.

The NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Lit Life contains three warm-toned shades. The first shade is pink, the second shade is yellow and the third shade is peachy.

This palette also contains very unique shades, but I think these would look best on a medium to deeper looking skin. These are nicely pigmented and apply easily on the skin. You can of course use a lighter hand and build up the intensity depending on your preference.

For this look, I’m wearing the first shade of the NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Arcade Glam and of course the Eyeshadow Palette in Sleek and Chic on my eyes. I’m also wearing a Powder Puff Lippie which you will see the entire range of in a future post.

I really like the NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Love You So Mochi Collection. It’s a super cute concept and the texture is really unique and works well for all the products; pigmented, interesting shades and easy to use. I think my favorite of the three products that I’ve shown is the  Love You So Mochi Highlighting Palette in Arcade Glam.

The entire NYX Professional Makeup Love You So Mochi Collection is available at the NYX Professional Makeup Stores in Amsterdam and Rotterdam.
