Pixi Beauty is a UK based brand created by Petra Strand, who has over 20 years of experience as a make-up artist and as a product developer. Petra is also passionate about skincare, so she created the Pixi Beauty products with innovative formulations, infused with botanical and beneficial ingredients like the Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip. These are long-wearing liquid lipsticks infused with rosehip oil, full of anti-oxidants to hydrate and make the liquid lipstick feel comfortable. I’m going to show you a selection of shades in today’s post.
The Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip are available in a selection of wearable shades. These come in a mint green, cardboard box with rose-gold details. I like that each individual shade has their own packaging details, with the color shown in front as well as on top of the packaging.
The tube of the Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip is transparent with rose gold details and a mint green top, holding 6.9 grams of product. I like the mint green theme that their products have. You don’t see that often in beauty products, which makes them unique and recognizable. The wand has a doe-foot applicator, which is slightly curved and forms a narrow tip at the end. It also has a hole in the middle of the applicator.
Here are swatches of the Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip shades that I’ve received. All of them are nicely opaque and swatch evenly. They all have a similar, satin matte finish and formula when it comes to the initial texture feeling. They feel thin and oily without being too runny. Since these are oily, it does take some time to completely dry. The performance however, is very different per shade, which I will discuss further at the swatches below.
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Pastel Petal
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Pastel Petal is a beautiful, powdery rose nude. Application was easy and even. I did had a clear inner rim when wearing this shade but it wasn’t bothersome. This shade feels comfortable, is long-lasting and has a subtle, sweet orange fragrance.
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Matte Beige
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Matte Beige is a pink beige nude shade. The shade applied evenly, feels comfortable, is long-lasting and has a subtle, sweet orange fragrance.
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Au Naturelle
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Au Naturelle is a peachy nude shade. Application is initially smooth but it can get patchy if you’re not careful when it is drying. During the drying period, it has a tendency to stick together, leaving patches if you put your lips together, especially in the inner rim. If you pay attention not to put your lips together too much when it is drying, it shouldn’t give any other trouble. It does tend to crumble quicker than the other shades in the inner rim. It still feels comfortable and has a subtle, sweet orange fragrance.
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Really Rose
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Really Rose is a warm rosy shade. Application is easy and smooth. I find the shade to be absolutely beautiful however, the product stinks horribly. I don’t know what happened to the sweet, orange scent but this one doesn’t have it, and it really has a terrible chemical-like smell, which isn’t very pleasant since it is right under your nose. It does still feel comfortable and is long-lasting.
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Evening Rose
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Evening Rose is a mauve-y rose shade. Application is similar to the previous shade, easy and smooth. This product also has that horrible smell, but is less sharp as the previous shade. I really find it unfortunate that these two shades have that bad smell, because I personally find them to be the most beautiful of all the shades. Again, it still feels comfortable and is long-lasting.
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Prettiest Pink
Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip in Prettiest Pink is a bright pink shade. This is definitely the odd-one out compared to the more neutral and nude shades. It doesn’t have a full opacity like the other shades, but I think it’s normal for these type of bright neon shades to not be fully opaque on the first go, but it can be with a second coat. Application since this shade isn’t fully opaque, it can apply a bit patchy, especially on the inner rim but it isn’t super troublesome. Thankfully, this shade has the sweet orange scent, feels comfortable and is long-lasting.
I like Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip products due to their wearable shade range and comfort. My lips actually feel hydrating during the initial application. I do wish that the shades would be more similar when it comes to the formula, because you will not know what you can expect when you are interested in another shade. The smell is really horrible for some of them.
I actually used my boyfriend as a test subject, let him smell the sweet orange scent at first and then put Really Rose under his nose. He literally jumped back because he wasn’t expecting such a smell. If you are sensitive to scents, I would not suggest the two rose shades, especially since they aren’t uncommon shades but it’s still a shame because I love these kinds of shades.
The other shades I would suggest to check out. These are very pretty and comfortable, which is great for a liquid lipstick that really dries to a satin matte finish. My favorite pick is the shade Au Naturelle.
The Pixi Beauty MatteLast Liquid Lip products are available for €21,00 Euro each at Babassu.nl and the Babassu Boutiques in Amsterdam, The Hague, Leiden and Wassenaar.

Evening Rose vind ik echt een heel mooie kleur, alleen jammer dat het product zo stinkt … Ben verder wel ontzettend benieuwd naar de lipsticks van Pixi! Ik ben enkel nog maar bekend met het Best of Bright-setje.
