Color Club Halo Hues – 2013 Collection

Here is the second part of my favorite holographic nail polishes, the Color Club Halo Hues. These are the colors of the Color Club Halo Hues 2013 collection. You can find my review and swatches of the Color Club Halo Hues 2012 Collection here. Just like the previous collection, these are all linear holographic nail polishes.

These are all the colors of the Color Club Halo Hues 2013 collection, the colors shown from left to right are: Beyond, Over the Moon, Eternal Beauty, Miss Bliss, Cosmic Fate and Kismet. Like the 2012 collection, I’ve purchased these polishes during their original release in 2013, Color Club has changed it’s logo and bottle so I don’t know if the brush also has changed, so I won’t go in detail on that in this review. In this collection, all the colors of the polishes are very different from another, which you will see in the swatches. I’ve used two coats for all swatches, the first photo is taken indoors, the second and third photo’s are taken in direct sunlight.

Color Club – Beyond

Beyond is an asphalt black linear holographic nail polish. This polish is very pigmented and a bit thicker in consistency compared to the others. If you’re careful with application, one coat should even be enough, but I would prefer two coats. This holographic effect is “absorbed” a bit by the black color, but it is still very strong. Because of that, the holographic effect also looks kind of scattered (so when you see glitters all over the nails instead of in one “stripe”).

Color Club – Over the Moon

Over the Moon is a blue linear holographic nail polish. This also has a thicker consistency and is very pigmented, one to two coats should be enough for full opacity. Compared to Blue Heaven (reviewed here), this is much darker. I love blue polishes, so this is one of the nail polishes that I wear a lot.

Color Club – Eternal Beauty

Eternal Beauty is a purple/violet linear holographic nail polish. Like the previous polishes, this nail polish is very pigmented and a bit thicker. You can really notice how darker and pigmented the nail polishes is, the thicker consistency and the less coats you need. Which means that you also need one to two coats for full opacity.

Color Club – Miss Bliss

Miss Bliss is a pink linear holographic nail polish. This is a very pretty, barbie pink, happy color. Very nice to wear during the summer. Two coats should be enough for full opacity.

Color Club – Cosmic Fate

Cosmic Fate is an orange coral-y linear holographic nail polish. This is a very unique shade but still a good wearable color for those who are more attracted to neutral shades. Two coats should be enough for full opacity.

Color Club – Kismet

Kismet is an yellow linear holographic nail polish. This is also very unique shade. It kind of has a slight green-ish tinge to it. I don’t own any other polish which has the same shade as this one, which says a lot since I own 500+ of them. It is a very special shade which probably will only be interesting for those who like more unique and bold shades. Two to three coats are enough for full opacity.

I’m so in love with these type of polishes, linear holographic polishes are just a dream to look at, I can’t stop staring at my nails when I’m wearing these. Just like the Halo Hues 2012 collection, you won’t need a base coat, there is no staining and it doesn’t decrease or increase the holographic effect. Also, top coats do not decrease or increase the holographic effect, so you can use whatever you want with these babies. They also dry rather quickly, if you work with thin layers, you can immediately apply a second layer after you did all your nails. The only downside that I can think of is that the holographic effect is less to none apparent in the shade. It still looks amazing in artificial light! You get the strongest holographic effect in direct sunlight, which is why I love to wear these during the summertime. The Color Club Halo Hues are available at Prettypolish.nl for €9.95 Euro.

Color Club has skipped making a 2014 collection but they are going to release a 2015 collection. When these are available, I will definitely purchase these and swatch them for you. Let’s hope that the weather is still nice and sunny by then!

Which shade of the Color Club Halo Hues 2013 Collection is your favorite?

Cheers,

Lariesa
