Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Eau de Parfum Review

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Review

A new chapter of love awakens. Introducing Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Eau de Parfum, the newest addition to La Nuit Trésor fragrance family. Described as the alter ego of the original La Nuit Trésor EdP, this scent is luminous and sensual, with an overdose of Musk combined with Freesia and Vanilla notes. For today’s post, I’m going to review the Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Eau de Parfum.

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Review

The shape of the bottle looks similar as the original La Nuit Trésor EdP however, instead of a dark and sultry looking diamond with black details, it completely has an opposite effect. This bottle is inspired by white diamonds, completely transparent with a violet, iridescent effect combined with a white rose and ribbon. The box where the perfume comes in has a beautiful holographic effect. I really wish I could capture both effects in picture, because they really look magical.

The scent of the Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Eau de Parfum is designed by perfumers Amandine Marie, Christophe Raynaud en Honorine Blanc. The notes are described as follows:

Top Notes: Raspberry, Violet Leaf, White Musk
Middle Notes:  Damask Rose, Freesia, Jasmine, White Musk
Base Notes:
White Musk, Sandalwood, Almond, Patchouli, Vanilla

When I first spray on the perfume, I notice a hint of juicy Raspberries. After that, I find it difficult to describe since I’m not good at distinguishing floral scents. All I can say is that on me, this is a sweet and clean floral scent. I really had to get used to wearing this perfume because I usually don’t like floral scents. Floral scents are usually too powdery for my taste however, this one I really like because it is more clean. The scent lasts the entire daytime on me.

In regards to the Musk notes, I can’t really say anything about it. Musk is a synthetic ingredient which was previously extracted from the anal gland of a male musk deer, which you can imagine would smell horrible on its own in high concentrations. According to the Wikipedia, the Musk scent is usually described as “animalistic, earthy and woody or something akin to the odor of baby’s skin”. I mostly think that Musk enhances the notes that are already present in a fragrance, adapting them to the wearer and making it a unique fragrance depending on each person. My boyfriend actually loves this scent on me and I think it’s the Musk notes is the cause.

Therefore, I think the Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Eau de Parfum is a beautiful, daytime scent. If you like slightly sweet and clean fragrances, you should definitely try this perfume on your own skin and see how it transforms.

Lancôme La Nuit Trésor Musc Diamant Eau de Parfum is available in volumes of 30 mL, 50 mL and 100 mL (suggested retail prices are €72, €101,50 and €128 Euro respectively) at a variety of perfume stores and warehouses such as Douglas.nl and De Bijenkorf.

Are you able to distinguish and describe the Musk note? How does it smell like to you?
