Olcay Gulsen Femme Power Eau de Parfum Review

Olcay Gulsen is a Dutch Entrepreneur best known for creating the fashion brand SuperTrash. For some time, Olcay has been interested in fragrances and the impressions they leave behind. Using her favorite ingredients such as Indonesian Patchouli and Virginian Cedarwood, she developed her fragrance called Femme Power, described as a voluptuous, mysterious and feminine fragrance available in a range of products. For today’s post, I’m going to show and review the Olcay Gulsen Femme Power Eau de Parfum.

The bottle of the Olcay Gulsen Femme Power Eau de Parfum is transparent and has an elongated, rectangular shape with a gold metallic plate in front. The cap is made of a stone type material, which might be marble? I think the overal aesthetic of the packaging looks very feminine and luxurious.

The fragrance is described as “A voluptuous, mysterious and feminine fragrance. Femme Power is not just a perfume, it is a statement. The combination of herbs and spices mixed with Indonesian Patchouli and Virginian Cedarwood creates a deep and sensual scent.” The notes are described as follows:

Top Notes:  Sage, Cardamom, Violet, Lemongrass
Heart Notes: Indonesian Patchouli, Virginian Cedarwood
Base Notes: Alias Cedarwood, Dry Amber, Musk

The scent starts fresh but almost immediately, changes into a warm, spiced and woody scent. I do recognize the Sage, Amber and Cedarwood notes in the fragrance. The scent is quite heavy and lasts the entire day, even days after application! When I tried the perfume for the first time, it was on my coat as well and after a few days, I can still smell the fragrance on there so I think this scent is more suitable for night time. Also in my opinion, I think this is more of a unisex fragrance than feminine due to the heaviness and spices. My boyfriend actually told me the same when he smelled it for the first time, not knowing if it was a fragrance for men or women.

If you like warm, spiced and woody type of scents with a touch of masculinity, I would definitely suggest to try out the Olcay Gulsen Femme Power Eau de Parfum.
