I am Libre. Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum is the newest fragrance for women by YSL. The fragrance described as a celebration of freedom, for those who do what they want and dare to be exactly who they are. The scent is a reinvention of the floral perfume, combining Lavender Essence with the sensuality of Moroccan Orange Blossom for a unique floral fusion. I’m going to show and review the Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum in today’s post.
The bottle of the Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum is designed by Suzanne Dalton. Inspired by the brands couture, the bottle features a glossy black asymmetric cap, gold chains around the neck of the bottle and completed with the timeless Yves Saint Laurent logo that is pinned and wrapped around the glass like a jewel.
I’m absolutely obsessed with the design. This is probably my favorite fragrance bottle so far. It looks so sophisticated, luxurious and timeless. The bottle feels sturdy, expensive and looks great on a vanity.
The fragrance was created by perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaim. These three women from different continents with three different life stories, intuitions and characters collaborated to create one scent they all adored. The notes of the Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum is described as follows:
Top Notes: Mandarin, Neroli
Middle Notes: Orange Blossom, Lavender, Jasmine
Base Notes: Vanilla, Ambergris, Musk
When I first apply this fragrance, I definitely notice the Mandarin and Neroli, having a fresh and sweet scent without being overly citrus-y. The scent then changes into a more sweet, warm and floral fragrance. I absolutely hate the smell of Lavender. It gives me a headache and I was scared to try this out but thankfully, I don’t notice it as much. I think the combination with Orange Blossom and Jasmine makes it pleasant for someone like me. On my skin, I think I mostly notice the Orange Blossom with a touch of Lavender, combined with the warmth of Vanilla and Ambergris.
I’m not a huge fan of Floral fragrances but in my opinion, this leans more to the Warm, Floriental side, which I absolutely adore. I’m so happy to like this fragrance because the description made me take a step back. The bottle looks absolutely beautiful, the scent is great, strong and lasts for hours on me. I definitely recommend to check out this fragrance if you can. I think it’s a well balanced fragrance for day and night during the Fall Season, but I would wear this any time of the year.
The Yves Saint Laurent Libre Eau de Parfum is available in volumes of 30 ml, 50 ml and 90 ml at several (online) stores and warehouses such as Douglas.nl and Douglas stores.
