FOTD Kingsday 2016

Kingsday is almost coming up and I thought it would be a nice idea to give you some inspiration for a make-up look. I unfortunately do not have time to write a tutorial but I can explain as much as possible on how I achieved the look on my eyes. Here is my FOTD Kingsday 2016 look.

If you think about a look for Kingsday, you will probably think of The Color Orange and The Dutch Flag. I was thinking of a way to use both of these themes and I think I really find a good way to do so. If this is too much for you, you can also choose to do the liner or the orange eyeshadow look separately.

For my FOTD Kingsday 2016 look, I used the Morphe 35O eyeshadow palette for the eyeshadow part. For the eyeliner, I used three Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Redrum, Drug Lord and Blue Velvet.

To explain what I did for the eyeshadow part, I indicated my Morphe 35O eyeshadow palette with numbers because the shadows do not have names.

Here is how I achieved the eyeshadow part: #1 – all over lid shade, #2 – transition and bottom lid shade #3 – upper lid shade,  #4 – outer V and a small amount in the crease, #5 – inner corner highlight. The most imporant shade is #4, the burn orange shade. A shade like this is what you really need to achieve this look.

The Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks are extremely versatile. Not only can u use them as a lipstick, I did the eyeliner part using the shades Redrum, Drug Lord and Blue Velvet as a liner. You can of course also use normal eyeliner if you have red, white and blue shades. When dried, these do not move or transfer (hooded eyes struggles) but you have to work in thin layers, or it will take a long time to dry properly. I dabbed a bit of the Liquid Lipstick on my hand and used a Zoeva 317 Winged Liner brush for application. I started with Drug Lord, the white shade and mapped out my wing using only that shade first. I drew my liner way thicker than I would usually do, because it would be difficult to sandwich three shades in a thin line. I also used the Beautyblender liner.designer for a sharp wing, which I will put a review of in the future. Next, I cleaned my brush using a make-up remover wipe and picked up Blue Velvet, I stayed as close to the lashline as possible and followed the white line I made before on my wing. I repeated the same process using Redrum, only on the top part of the white liner. Then I constantly went back and forth to  clean up the lines, make sure to wipe of your brush each time you switch shades! NEVER re-apply more white on your hand on top of where you previous put the lipstick, this might have mixed with the other shades, how minuscule it might be, it can ruin your perfectly white lipstick/liner.

I chose the NYX Butter Gloss in Peach Cobbler for my lips but I’m not too sure if this fits the look, I also have no idea what would fit with such a look like this.. maybe NYX Stockholm?
